you would think that a insurance company would want you to be healthy. they would want you not to be sick or ill because if your healthy lets face it. it saves them money. and the money goes to their pockets or wives/signifigant other/bf/kids/mistress or whomever it just builds up into their wallet. well anyway here is my little bitch and complaint. My fucking insurance company... they are idiots. and let me tell you why. ok so i am a diabetic and well most of you know it. so i take many shots a day but the major important one i was taking was lantus. which is a injection since my body rejects the pills.... *mumbles something about the powers that be not letting me take pills* but anyways, lantus is I would say 3-4 inches tall and its a long lasting insulin. lasts me the entire day for extended period of time just to keep me level. Well lantus is expensive yeah so.. what do they do. hmm they give me a generic called levimir.. hmm so I said ok I will try it. I get my bottles yesterday. now for diabetics out there or people who are fimular with the bottle humalog its about 1 inch long... lol so is levimir... what a joke. now think about this everyone lantus lasts me two weeks with the 3inch bottle with the dosage i take.. they just now give me levimir which is not even 1/2 the size of lantus.. and why? because it is $10 dollars cheaper! well hmm let me think of save them $10 butttt the bottle is 1/3 smaller than my regular. hmm what is wrong with this picture.. ok so I will take it. but the bottle will last me 1 week instead of 2-3 and they will have to pay out triple than what they were paying for with the lantus because the bottles are smaller. and to save $10. they also called me and asked me to use my needles 2x before tossing it. and I told them no. Once it enters the skin the needle itself jaggs, and it also shows this in the manuals they provide in the box and the reasons not to resuse them. because the needle becomes more brittle and can break. And I couldnt believe this rep asked me to do this. Morons. So I find it rather humorous that they want me to try a new drug that doesnt contain the same amount per vile of insulin as the other stuff and expect me to save them money. lesson to be learned.... read fine print before you enroll in a insurance plan at work.
