All the Exclusive Details on Lucy Hale's 'Victorian Goth' Beauty Look!

We’ve got a secret, can you keep it?

We’re kidding — you’re definitely going to want to spill all the exclusive details we just got on Lucy Hale’s hair and makeup looks from the People’s Choice Awards.

The Pretty Little Liars star hit the carpet in a sexy Self Portrait design (styled by Rachel Zoe Studio) which featured a lace-up neckline and sheer-paneled skirt. And she played up the gothic vibe with her beauty look courtesy of her glam squad — Kelsey Deenihan (makeup) and Kristin Ess (hair).

“Kelsey and I spent New Year’s together and I already knew what dress I was going to wear then so we started planning our look together,” Hale tells PeopleStyle exclusively. “Kelsey, Kristin and I also always get on a group chat together and send inspiration back and forth.”

Deenihan, mark.’s celebrity makeup artist, adds that the dress was the inspiration behind the whole look.

“After we saw the dress, we wanted to go for a Victorian Goth look,” Deenihan tells PeopleStyle exclusively. “We also decided that since her hair was back, we wanted to do a pop of color and decided to go for a dramatic lip.”

The whole look took about 90 minutes to complete (mainly because the trio was playing music and having fun while getting ready).

To play up Hale’s eyes, Deenihan started by applying the maroon shade from the mark. On The Dot Neutral Eye Color Compact along the upper lash line and slightly blended it out into the corners and on the lower lash line. Then she lined the entire top waterline and the outer half of the lower waterline with themark. No Place To Run Eyeliner in Jet Set, plus, the Hourglass Sculpting Pen in Warm Brunette on Lucy’s brows and finished the look with the YSL Shocking Mascara in Deep Black.

As for Hale’s glow, Deenihan used Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #5, the Chanel Powder Blush in Rose Initial on the cheek bones and the mark. Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Cubes all over the cheeks. She pulled the whole look together with a vampy lip, first lining Hale’s pout with Chanel Lip Liner in Rouge Noir followed by mark. Lipclick Matte Lipstick in Vixen (as seen in the BTS photo above.)

As for her textured crown plait, Ess didn’t use many bobby pins to keep it in place. She decided to go with a simple braid to keep the focus on the dress and the actress’s makeup look.
