For every man that was sent away
Every man woman and child did pray
Every night across our land
On our knees
With folded hands
We prayed for
Loved ones to come home
To convey these thoughts
I write you this poem
Our hearts are filled with love and joy
For every man
And every boy
Every woman
Every girl
No matter what the age when you did leave
An adult is how you returned to thee
You traveled far away from home
Into dangers well unknown
For every man who served I say
We take pride in You
And the USA
