DREAMS
She leads him to a temptation that he cannot refuse
The rhythm of his heart changes, and she is very amused
Slowly through the flowing forest he follows her enchanting glow
His body numb, breath quickening, his eyes widen every step he goes
The moon shines brightly, forming a beautiful yet mysterious halo around her
He grasps a tree tightly, her beauty making him drunk with desire.
A breeze passes through her auburn hair sending her perfume to him.
He closes his eyes and breathes in deep as wind through the trees whisper the song of love.
Then he opens his eyes to see her lying next to him
In the bed they've shared for almost fifty years.
He sits up without taking his eyes away,
Still as beautiful as the first day he saw her...
Maybe even more so now.
He runs his fingers gently through her silvering hair
Only to find that she really isn't there
He screams in pain as his heart breaks once again
Like a sick morning ritual he bathes in his tears,
Tomorrow will be one year without her.
This will be the last of his broken hearts, as he falls to the floor
Clinging to her memory like never before
Slowly his heart dissapates
Till there is nothing left
But a fragment of a dream, That once was real...
