We breezed through December with no signs of a seizure. On January 14, 2007 she came home from a weekend at her dad's saying that her legs hurt. The seizure kinda hurt, mom! I kept a close eye on her and thankfully, nothing came of it.
She has been under a lot of stress the last two weeks due to FCAT testing, and it's the time of the month she seems to have seizures.
When I went in to wake her up this morning because her alarm had been going off for 10 minutes, I had a feeling but didn't really want to worry. First words out of her mouth were, "I felt weird last night, but I think it's just where my Care Bear flopped over." I of course asked her what she meant she felt weird. She said it felt like her legs were in the bed but she realized it was her Care Bear. But it wasn't her legs, it was her arms. "But it's just where my Care Bear moved."
To me, that means she's headed for another seizure. My cousin, who is epileptic, tends to have the tingly feeling in her hands and feet before she has a seizure. Like when your hands or feet go to sleep. I know she thinks it was only her Care Bear, but in my heart and I know it's more than that.
Thankfully she's on Spring Break starting tomorrow and I'm out with her. So if she does have one, neither of us will miss any time.
Well, I can't say for sure that was a seizure but the way she was after hints that it could have been. UGH.
March 26, 2007 -
We had a follow up with the neurologist. All seems well and Jelly has switched to the pills for her seizure meds. Makes it easier for camping, etc. LOL
I swear that since she started having the seizures she's gotten clumsier and clumsier. Maybe it's just me.
Anyway, last week at extended day one of the kids threw a ball and it bounced off a tree and hit her in the back of the head. She seemed to be ok and no seizure resulted. Thankfully.
Today, she calls from the extended day office to tell me she slipped and fell and hit her head. WTF?? The ONE place you don't want someone prone to seizures to hit LOL. Needless to say, I won't be sleeping well tonight.
PLUS she's supposed to go on a camping trip with her Girl Scout troop this weekend. I just pray that all goes well and she doesn't end up having a seizure before or during the trip.
I'll keep ya posted.
