Her original neurologist that I didn't like, Dr. Rathinam, is no longer practicing so we got to see Dr. Kojic. WHAT a difference!!!!! She didn't argue with me that Angelica was having seizures or anything. She wanted to know exactly what happened yesterday and between Angelica and I we were able to tell her.
She has been diagnosed as an epileptic. She's ok with that and I'm actually just thankful to have a diagnosis of sorts. They still aren't sure what's triggering the seizures, but Dr. Kojic thinks the ones yesterday were a combination of her outgrowing the dosage she was on and a lack of sleep from the weekend.
She was very shocked to learn of all the restrictions Dr. Rathinam had put on her and said, no, she needs to live her life, that's what the medication is for. She is absolutely allowed to have caffeine, chocolate, ride the roller coasters, etc. Just before bed, she needs to not watch tv and read something boring so her brain isn't stimulated.
Angelica absolutely loves Dr. Kojic so I think I'll hold off on finding a new neurologist. She is to have an EEG on Wednesday morning so we'll see what that says. Just glad that my little girl can finally be a normal little girl again. They increased her anti-seizure medicine and she should be good to go from here.
