"Unevenly Tainted World"
Surviving this world so unevenly tainted,
The colors are various shades of gray,
Never knowing what tomorrow holds,
The canvas is in such disarray.
Survival teaches you patience,
Which most will never come to know.
Courage pours like a fine red wine,
Although your sanity begins to go.
You live one day at a time,
Taking each one on as your last.
Your strength has dwindled to zero,
You have no time to worry about the past.
The walls continue to close in,
You become delirious as well as unaware.
Life's priorities are suddenly rearranged...
As you regroup and simply compare.
You haven't the energy to stand alone,
This is when it becomes clear...
You only have your faith in God,
Even when so many others are near.
This unevenly tainted world...
Suddenly becomes a thrilling masterpiece to view.
Splattered drops of blue are signs of borrowed time
When God's tears have been shed for you.
