Tolmer Bandon is the kind of guy who is good at what he does, and he knows it. He brags about it. What he's good at is fighting with his fists and feet, and the occasional quarterstaff. As a child in an orphanage, he was often the butt of many practical jokes, including one time when some local bullies sent his mattress down the river. He spent a lot of time out of doors, and became a renowned fighter in the underground tournaments.
One day after he had become a man, a stranger paid him for a good deed with an item that brought him to what seemed an early demise. He woke in a barn, in a world he would come to save, with the help of three others, the four of them known as the Travelers. He later developed super-human senses of smell and sight.
