Being independance day, I have been thinking about some of the things set forth by the founding fathers of our country.
It was once written :
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
(You have a right to see this as foolish and wrong or as valid and right, but we will get to that in a bit.)
But what are these Unaliable rights(other than the three mentioned above)? Here are a few that I've thought of:
1. You have the right to have an opinion.
2. You have the right to be correct.
AND
3. You have the right to be wrong.
4. You have the right to infringe upon anothers rights.
AND
5. You have the right to retaliate if you feel your rights are being infringed upon.
AND
6. You have the right to retaliate against this sort of retaliation.
AND
7. Etc. (think of this like the geometrical concept of a ray, having a start and going on into infinity).
8. You have a right to act.
AND
9. You have the right to refrain from action.
10. You have a right to REACT
AND
11. You have the right to refrain from REACTION.
12. You have the right to view something as right.
AND
13. You have the right to view something as wrong.
I am not one to put hidden things into my writing in order to trick or confuse the reader. So let me point out the paradox in this.
If you agree with me we have nothing to argue over and my point stands. If you dissagree, then you prove me correct (CF. # 13).
