A Pledge, A Promise
I have searched for you almost a life time
an eternity it seems to me, but
suddenly here you are, and it seems no
time at all.
Today I promise myself to you, what you see here
in front of you is all that I am. There are no hidden secrets, there are no hidden lies
I freely come to you in love and respect.
I pledge to you forever to love and respect your
ways, to allow you your path, and to help you grow
when I see you falter. I promise to never hold you from your insight in a direction you feel you must go.
I promise you a shoulder in your pain, and a smile
in your successes. I promise you understanding
and I promise to listen with ears wide open.
I promise you a sharing of my entire soul.
I will never run from problems or secret
out my worries. I will never hide from you
my deepest fear, and hope you allow me the same
I give to you my energy, my faith, my being.
May the gods and goddess of the earth,
moon and stars be my witness today. I am yours,
I want no other, may our selves become one
to share, to grow, to love, for now into eternity
as it has been before and will be again.
