selling popularity

The Happy hr thing still amazes me. Who pays $100 for online attention? I guess it's something people who spend much of their time on the internet don't get alot of. I don't know. It's bizarre to me. If you have that kind of money to spend on fun things, why not go out and do something? Go to a stripclub. Go to a bar, and buy a bunch of people drinks, you can probably get some good attention in person that way. Donate that money to a charity or something, they will be appreciative, and probably shower you with compliments. Really, if that's all you are looking for, walk into an army recruiting station. They will tell you how nice your clothes are, or some other sort of compliment. No one sux your ass like the army does. They learn pretty quickly to be ass suckers there. People are more willing to go along with whatever you offer if they are happy, especially if you are atleast partial cause of it. It's one of those weird psychological things. That's why I don't trust people who are nice to me if I don't know them. If they are nice, they probably want something. Anyway, Happy hr... This site has to have made a fortune off people's need of attention. People get rewarded with noises, and numbers and comments. None of this costs much to give, it's just putting it into the program. The webhosting costs money, but they can give as many of these rewards out without spending any more money. They are pixels, numbers on a screen. They don't even have to do it all themselves. They can rely on other people to rate, and give out comments. People are paying $100 for their own personal " 15 minutes of fame ". it's an hr in this case. But it's rather limited. Maybe it's more appealing that way. They get that controlled fame. lol. If it went beyond this website, then everyone would know how desperate they are for attention. Maybe these people are agraphobic, are scared to be around people, but still want some sort of attention from them. I guess hosting a happy hr would satisfy that kind of need. But if you are that scared of people, what do you do that you can afford to pay for one? I guess these people spend the money they would on gas, on happy hr, because they don't ever leave the house? This is one of those things that I wouldn't believe if I hadn't saw it. Good for those people who saw a need that people had and came up with a way of filling it. Hopefully they do good things with the money. Now any ordinary person with $100 can be famous for an hr. And I guess if they end up with lots of friends and fans, they get more attention later on too. Each time they post a picture, or blog, or whatever, there will be more people that see that, and more people who may rate it, and comment on it. Maybe all the positive comments will boost these people's self-esteme about how they look enough for them to leave their house and actually interact with real people. Maybe this site can do some good in the world. Or maybe it's simply taking advantage of lonely people desperate for attention.
