We must follow ADA regulations. Stella refuses to acknowledge people use wheelchairs. She has put essential equipment out of reach because "how many people in wheelchairs have been in this office this year". Thad be 2 Stella...2.
So, I'm letting her do her crazy thing and have put my objections in writing so when it blows up I can say...whoa...twasnt me. Also planning on directing anyone complaining about it to Stella directly.
Also...anyone under 5' won't be able to do the job they've been hired for. At the moment we do not have anyone that height but have in the past.
Stella refuses to believe short people are real.
I should point out that boss lady is 6'1" and she doesn't realize just how high the equipment has been placed. I'm 5'6" and it's a bit too high for me. Stella is 5'4" but will stand on her toes before admitting it's too high.
But Stella is on one of her irrational kicks and I'm just not up for dealing with it.
I'm giving it 4 years. If she is still there in 4 years I'll try for a departmental transfer. It's hard because you only get a transfer if your department doesn't care if you leave or wants you gone. I've tried. I get blocked then I get a raise. Ugh.
It's been 6 years of Stella. The first 4 were annoying. The past 2 have been hell. Not just for me. I'm not alone in this. I'm just the one trapped in a building alone with her for 1 hours everyday. I am very jealous of those that were able to quit. There was a Stella and Karen exodus. I call it the great escape.
