Saving Social Security

Collisiums to save social security — Wednesday, November 29, 2006 Ok, so we were talking about social security, and other social welfare programs today. My ideas are to put a flat tax, instead of a regressive social security tax. Right now, people only have to pay the 6.2% tax on the first 90,000$ they make. Having people pay the social security tax on all their money would help the social security fund out for later. On top of that, is my idea for collisiums. Old people could volutarilrly fight each other to the death, and the winner would get half the other persons social security check. That way there would be less old people, so less social security would be paid out. This will also help the medicare program. The helthier people will be the ones that win, and they will be the one's that need less healthcare. All the money made from the spectator's price of admission, and sale of refreshments and such can also be put towards the social security fund. This will reduce the number of old people, and encourage them to be healthy, so they can win in the coloseum and gain money. The government can also make money off such events through people betting on them. It will also create more jobs, because there will have to be people running the whole thing. People selling refreshments, and cleaning up afterwards. Money could also be made from charging to let stations broadcast the event, as well as comercials while it was being broadcast. Money could also be made from banners and such at the coloseums. Legalizing assistied suicide, will also reduce the number of old people, and reduce the cost of keeping old people alive that don't want to be alive anymore. We may even be able to save money on the TANF welfare program. We could have collisiums for the poor people to fight in too. It would reduce the amount of people in poverty by killing off some of them, and creating more jobs for others. Instead of getting money from the bennifits their opponents would have recieved, they would be given rewards such as cash, and food, and scholorships. rewards could also be given in the form of better housing. One of the problems with letting the poverty stricken fight in the collisim, is that when they die, they will often leave behind a family that depends on them. Such as children. The money made off the collisium would probably be enough to create several state run facilities to put the children. However where funding wouldn't be the issue, the the finding of qualified careing people do deal with the children who are displaced from their parents being killed in the collisum would be an issue. This would create more jobs, but finding the right people for these jobs would be very difficult since most people are idiots and assholes and have no buisness having a job taking care of children. But actually, the last part being said, what makes those people any worse than the parents who died that were taking care of their children? I guess the answere is likly to be- People are more likly to take better care of children if they are theirs, than if they are being paid to take care of someone elses. Another problem with the collisium idea is the initial sociall acceptibility factor. There are many who would see something wrong with the government, as well as other people, profiting off death. And not just death, but people killing each other in such a gruesome way. Funeral homes profit off death though. People who sell cemetary plots profit off death. People who sell flowers, and coffins profit off death. And the government now, indirectly gains off death because when people die, they no longer have to pay them social security. One of our major problems seems to be that there is a longer lifespan now than there was before. Maybe we should do something about that. We could legalize drugs, and get rid of the restrictions on tobacco. If children started smoking at twelve, they would likly not live much past 65, and less social security would have to be paid to them. Other small things like that would help death by natural selection once again take place. If people want to kill them selves after taking health classes in school, so theyknow how things affect them, they ought to be able to. People should be given the information necesary to make their own decisions, and be able to make them on their own. It's an idea, maybe it's not perfect and needs to be revised some. But atleast I'm thinking outside of the box. Maybe people would force or coirce people to fight in these colisiums. Maybe we should set them up for people in prison too. It should reduce prison populations, but what rewards would we offer? maybe money to their families. Maybe better cells in the prison. Deffinatly NOT reduced prison terms though. We don't want violent people out early. Prisoners might be hesitant to participate in these activities due to parrolle boards looking down on them too. So it would be mostly those serving long sentences without parole. And there is also a likly factor of people in the prison being coirced into participating. So that would be bad too. It's something I would only believe in if it
