I thought I'd seen everything here... Well, I was wrong!
I got this message yesterday from an individual with a profile named
Isreal, and I laughed out loud. Never has a more classic case of scam artists (!) shown itself to me than in this message. Permit me to relate this (I'm gonna anyway - you might as well say okay), and my thoughts thereon.
"I am vivuian [sic] ,i was going through profiless [sic],an d i see your amazing [My amazing what?],you nare [sic] what a lady want [Tell that to my exes]. i wll like toKnow [sic] more about you if you are willing to know me more better [Not more better than your spelling and grammar] ,i am single .26 form Califonia..you can talk tome [What - she likes books?] on myyahoomessenger [sic]i am online now [But I'm not]...th is my id [not posted for protection of friends from stupidity] .if u can add me so that we can talk better ok.
Vivian"
Forgive me if I seem like I'm only picking on someone for their poor English skills. I am picking on them, but not for that reason. These people anger me. I was nearly prey for several such lovely ladies from - Where did this one say? Oh - California, Wyoming, and one said Ohio. They and others like them invariably want you to either cyber with them (which ain't happenin' - I can barely understand her now! What about when she's - supposedly - climaxing?) or to have you cash a money order for them. They ask you to contact them on YIM or AIM. Then they sweet talk you for three or four days. Then they ask for a "favor", and it's not retrieving a frying pan. You get some explanation about how they are in Africa, and need to cash a money order - a US money order - and they want your address to to which to send it. The second girl to do this to me sparked my curiosity. I researched the Internet and found 3 stories about people doing this exact same thing - and the money orders they ask you to cash are stolen. And cashing them for you is a federal crime. THEN they want you to deposit the cash in your own account, and send them a check.
I have enough problems woth my tiny ego, trying not to let dumb little things eat at me, as it is. I also have to deal with so-called "cam girls" - girls trying to entice you to their pay-per-peek cam shows online. For someone to do this is despicable. And this one is more intelligible than some of the others. They really take the fun out of being online.
Rock on!
