Why do I still think of you
When all is lost
Why can’t I be rid of you
And move past this place
Where my heart
Still wants you close
I never asked you
Why my heart aches
At the sound of your tears
When they hit the floor
I never asked you
Why my soul quakes
At the sound of your voice
Upon the phone
I never asked you
Why I still
Love you
So many roads still left to find
So many miles still keeps me from you
And all I can think about
Is you in my arms
When everything was right
I never asked for your voice
To fade into the night
I never asked
For you to leave my sight
All of these were of your own choice
All that I care about…
Is that you are safe
I never asked you
Why my heart still aches
I never asked you
Why my soul still quakes
At the sound of your voice
Upon the phone
I never asked you
Why I still
Love you
So now here is stand
Upon the gallows of our love
So now here I rest
At your feet
Your mercy
