Who I am
First of all I am human like everybody else. I am far from perfect and have made many mistakes (which I prefer to call life lessons) in my life. I am not here on lost cherry for the points or to be popular, I am here for genuine friendships; if you are looking for anything else then you wouldn’t want to add me to your friends list!
Things that I feel are important to truly know me:
1. My family and my work come first and lost cherry will never take the place of them. Please do not take offense to this, I mean nothing by it other than my family and job are my top priorities.
2. I live in Arizona with my immediate family and grandchildren but the rest of my family lives out of state (NY, Georgia, Florida) so you can understand why I signed up for Lost Cherry.
3. I am here to make friends solely. I will never post private pics and believe me you wouldn’t want to see them anyways! I do not have an hour glass figure anymore and I have 4 grown children so it wouldn’t be a pretty site anyways! Please don’t send me any invites or shoutbox to view adult pics because honestly it just isn’t my bag, to each their own. I am a preschool teacher; would you want the person that is responsible for your child dabbling in porn? I think not, come on people I have to set an example and be as good of a role model to young children as I possibly can! After all they are OUR future!
4. I am not here to judge anyone; I do not have the knowledge, the authority or purpose, that is up to our higher power!
5. I am a Christian but please don’t call me a bible thumper or any other such like name. I do not belong to any particular church or attend one weekly. The definition of a church is a place of worship so on that note your house, a street corner, website or even your heart can be considered the church and your body is the temple! I am not here to preach religion but instead to support and comfort those I can. If I say God Bless and it offends you please let me know and I will refrain from saying it!
6. I am not trying to be someone that I am not. Just because I am a Christian does not make me perfect so please don’t expect perfection from me cause you will be sadly disappointed! I have my own share of problems and believe you me I face my own demons on just about a daily basis. The good book states that we are born in sin and we die in sin enough said!
7. I was married for 14 years (first marriage) to an alcoholic. When my first marriage fell apart I hated him so much. I have long since gotten over that through the grace of God and now have nothing but compassion for him!
8. I have my share of vices; I am inpatient at times, can be demanding and controlling, I do swear and too much I might add! I do not smoke anymore, I kicked that bad habit awhile ago but I do indulge in drinking wine sometimes.
9. I can be quite the talker and sometimes it may be difficult for other people to speak there peace. I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist, I think I inherited that from my father.
10. I love people in general, can be quite goofy and silly at times and I believe I am young at heart! I will never deny anyone to my list of friends.
Things I know to be the truth:
1. Children are a precious gift from God and should never be taken for granted. What you do with your life really does set an example for your children! Children are also brutally honest!
2. True forgiveness only comes after you have forgiven first yourself.
3. You really do gain knowledge and wisdom as you age. I think humans are like butterflies; first we are born-infancy (cocoon stage)-protected from the outside world. We then become young adults (caterpillar stage)-exploring, discovering and stumbling along the way and as we age and gain more knowledge we let go of our inhibitions, change direction, view life differently, release and grow wings (butterfly stage) and set our soul free!
4. True beauty goes much deeper than what is on the outside. We all eventually lose our youth if we are fortunate to live long enough, our physical appearance fades. It is our character that is eternal.
5. Tough love is tougher on the giver than it is the recipient.
6. Unconditional love means just that; without any restrictions!
7. Sometimes saying no is the best thing you could do for that particular person.
8. Money cannot buy true happiness; it can only temporarily satisfy your needs.
9. Do not judge others unless you have walked in their shoes.
10. It is hard to despise someone who is continually nice to you.
11. The three most meaningful words in the English language are I Love You; the three worst are I Hate You; the hardest three to say are I am sorry or I forgive you!
12. Marry someone other than just because the sex is good. Believe me passion wears off but good companionship coupled with good conversation will never be boring!
13. Always set goals; short and long term, you can always improve on yourself and it gives your life a greater purpose.
14. Words really do hurt more than physical contact; your body can heal with time but psychological wounds may never heal.
15. That no matter how bad it may seem at the time, everything happens for a reason, there is an ultimate reason (no mistakes) and a life lesson is to be learned.
16. We will all eventually die; live life to its fullest. Enjoy each day as if it were your last because it very well could be! Live, love and laugh often and remember a smile can brighten someone’s day!
17. You can never have too many friends.
This poem says it all and was sent to me from Lisa, much thanks to her!
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.
