Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years, People grow old by deserting their ideals, dreams, goals and beliefs. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up goals, dreams and beliefs wrinkles the soul.
It is not the years in your life but the life in your years that counts. The best part of the art of living is to know how to grow old gracefully. The knowledge you possess. All the mistakes you have made throughout your life and learned and have grown from them.
You can't help getting older, but you don't have to get old. You're never to old to become younger in your heart and in your thoughts. Wrinkles should merely indicate where the smiles have been.
I truly don't know what the big deal is about old age. So many elderly shine from inside and look 10 to 20 years younger. Are you truly only as old as you feel. As for me; Some days I feel 25 other days I feel 65. So what's up with that. The funny thing about all this is; If your completely stressed out you fell 70. If your happy and at peace you feel 25. It's all in the mind. Age is just in the mind. The best part of the art of living is to know how to grow old gracefully.
As you grow older don't slow down. Speedup. There's less time left! Live your life, forget your age. If you rest you rust.
So many without a partner in their lives are stressed because we think we're to old to find one. The negative thoughts come through; I'm going to grow old and die alone. I'll never find that special person, the best are already taken, etc. My reality is; I believe their truly is a very special person out there for each and everyone of us. Your never to old to meet that soulmate and that person that will hold your hand for the rest of your life. I'm only 46 but feel 30. I know I'm not even half way through my life yet. I have another 50 years to go. I never give up my dreams. I'm patient. The biggest difference between me now and me at 25 is I'm much brighter, wiser, aware of how life works and know what type of women I want to share the rest of my life with. I'm not going to settle for anyone less. Never stop believing. It will happen for all of us who dream and truly believe. Copyright: Rich R 4/16/09
