Slept a bit late Saturday morning, but I was off and running by noon and soon heading to my first client for the weekend. Because it was so sunny, I was able to talk her into going out and about. Dragged her with me to the James Avery jewelry store. She liked quite a few of the pieces there but thought some were on the pricy side. James Avery has been in business for over 35 years now, maybe a bit longer, and as a jeweler craftsman from the Kerrville/Hunt Texas area, he has built up quite a reputation and some of his pieces have indeed gone up but they are all extreme quality craftsmanship; something that you buy from him, you know it will last a lifetime! At any rate....
She helped me pick out a pair of leaf type earrings. I love them and glad she was there to help me decide. Going into that store is like going into a candy store where it is hard to decide on which item to choose to buy -- there is wayyyy too much to choose from.
We went to some other stores too and we happened across an antique store that was running some bargains on some chairs. I found two that I thought would go with my dining room table (that wouldn't be too just of the ordinary). Each of the chairs were $10 each. I was disappointed that this man didn't have more of this style, but I will keep on looking. We did look at some other stores but the chairs that she liked weren't even lending themselves to the same color. She reasoned that her own dining room chairs didn't match; but I argued with her that they were, at least, very close in the same color as her dining room table. :)
Any how, I took a break from that client and went home to get 3 hrs sound sleep before returning back and trying to get her to sleep. I had to leave there in the morning to a new client that I hadn't dealt with before.
The new client told me some Civil War history with her own family and I shared with her some Civil War history of mine -- as well as the fact that I am related to Daniel Boone. I had made a great friend after that.
Well, hopefully, she'll still be my friend after me trying to help her get around in her home on Sunday. She kept trying to lunge unexpectantly -- one time she nearly fell off the side of the bed had I not caught her -- another time she insisted that the walker chair was close enough but when she lunged for it, I lost connection with her with my left arm and caught her with my right arm and breaking her fall to basically sit her down. However, the fulcrum of the motion sent me spinning across the room and I fell down. We both laughed for a bit, and after I got back up to assist her up, I kept telling her that she isn't a marathon sprinter and we can't be taking those lunges!!
I think everything will be okay. My left arm is sprained from catching her in her motion of sliding off the side of the bed earlier when she lunged for sitting down on the bed. I think that probably made my arm react the way it did when I lost contact her and I went for a spin in the living room.
I am just thankful that I wasn't the one that was going to have the priviledge of taking her to Church. Thank goodness. I would have hated to see how that would turn out.... lol.
When I got home, I was soooo afraid that it might have been dislocated; however, after some Aleeve and sitting there motionless, it is feeling much better than it had. To be sure though, I am going to babysit my arm to ensure proper healing -- although a little bit of exercising for a sprain is in order.
Hopefully, my week ahead will be less eventful....
:D
