ok seriously alot of people joke in the mumms this one i need help on.
working on the river you put up with alot of BS there is no doubt of that. last thursday i was supposed to catch my regular boat the sarah elizabeth now they stuck me on the cindy celeste its a bigger boat shoves more barges and has basically assholes for crew. i talked to the owner of this company today while we had a diver go down and look at the wheels under the boat about me getting into the steersman program which i told myself a year ago almost to the date that is what i wanted to do. his comment was he has 5 steersman right now and blew me off. i have been at the same pay rate for a year without a raise while im seeing others come in after me get top out pay. i have never had a bad evaluation in fact i have had 3 captains put me in for raises which i never got. so here is my question. i am about to break on this boat the drama is overwhelming what do i do. finish the next three weeks out or say fuck it call the office have them find me a relief and start looking at other companies where advancement opportunities are better? |
