This has been an absolutely awesome week!
For those of you who didn't know, which is most of you...I applied for an AP position at one of our yards. It means total control as I would be the SOLE AP person for 14yards and that can end up being a lot of work. Why do it you ask? Well, the opportunity was too good to pass up. I like being in control and being in the loop, hell I'll be the loop! Also I'll get to learn new things and work on special projects. The major reason is that there is a possibility to become a staff accountant in about two years which is what I REALLY want to do. So I interviewed with the CFO on Wed, then the controller on Thursday, got a phone call from the controller offering me the job about two hours after the interview, and accepted the position the next day after I was really sure that this is what I want. So I will be transitioning over for the next three weeks and will be with the other subsidiary by the end of the month! I'm going to miss my yards and the people I work really closely with, but this is just too good to pass up. Its not like I'll never talk to them again. I'm still under the umbrella just on a different part.
After taking the job Amanda was the sweetest person ever and threw me a congratulatory party. She didn't have to but still.... I love her and thanks to Amanda, Heather, Candice, and Scott. Ya'll didn't have to come, well its your house Candice but you get the point, you're all GREAT!
The other GREAT thing that happened this weekend. I faced yet another fear that I had. I've been telling myself that I'm over Jon for a while now, but never had the opportunity to actually prove it to myself. Well I have had the opportunities just never took them. So last night Amanda and I were talking about the ex's and she mentioned that she would like to know what hers was up to. I told her that it would be nice to know how Jon was doing too but never seem to get responses and stuff, and that I would like to see him to know hes ok. She said we should go to BevMo seeing as that's where he works. So today I called her asked her if she wanted to go and we went. We didn't see him at first. The last time I saw him he had short hair and looked different. I saw him before she did or before he saw us. I walked faster trying to get out of the store, deciding that I wasn't up for it. Then he walked by, and did a double take and walked off. Amanda being the loving friend that she is says "fine don't say hi, just walk off and ignore us!" hahahahahahaha He turns around says "If I would have recognized you I would have." So Amanda and I checked out, making comments. Our Cashier was kinda cute. So Jon comes over talks a little. I looked at Amanda and said loudly, "Now remember I tired to get him to grow his hair out and he wouldn't do it!' He said " Now you see why." "I laughed and said yeah I know" We left and I can honestly say there is no attraction there anymore. Yeah I do care about him, he was a big part of my life at one point, but not any more. I hope he does get the degree in business, even though I was kinda catty about it. I'm attracted to the Jon I used to know. Not to this one. I can really truly let go of that part of my life now. Wish him the best, But homie does need to cut his hair! hahaha :)
Plus I found three dresses that I tired on that fit me awesomely and I bought them... I can only hope that this week will be a great as last week was... :)
