http://www.freechristianleadertraining.org/3-3-9-work_ir_out.htm We Can Work It Out Objectives To be come better acquainted with the issue of conflict in marriage. To consider various responses that couples make when faced with conflict in their relationship. To gain encouragement from the bible that when it comes to conflict, "we can work it out." To establish our own plans for resolving problems as they arise in marriage. Examining the Issue of Marriage Conflict Agree/Disagree You will find a number of bold statements on the subject of conflict listed below. Do you agree or disagree with each statement and discuss the reasons why? 1. The couple that fights together stays together. 2. The sooner a couple addresses a problem, the better. 3a. Conflict is always wrong. 3b. Finding the "principle of the thing" is the key to resolving conflict. 4. Christian couples seldom fight. 5. In most conflicts, it is hardly ever black and white, right or wrong, therefore there is no winner or loser to identify. 6a. The presence of conflict demonstrates that you have an honest relationship. 6b. Conflict breeds discontent in a marriage and drives people apart. 7a. There is a difference between a good fight and a dirty fight, and the latter is to be avoided. 7b. Direct confrontation is the only constructive way to face conflict. 8a. Disagreement is not necessary if you have open communication. 8b. Yielding one's rights is the best starting point for solving problems. 9. Sticking to one's rights is important for personal growth. 10. Great marriages are built on compromise. 11. Conflict is so basic to a relationship that it is impossible to have any closeness without it. 12.. Newlyweds argue less than other married couples. The central issue in working out conflict, then, is not whether to have a fight, but how to have a good fight. Here are eight ground rules for having a good fight, suggested by counselor Angela Pintar. Perhaps you will want to add your own. 1. Fight By Mutual Consent. Don't insist on a fight at a time when one of you can't handle the strain. A good fight demands two ready partners. 3. Stick to the Present. Don't dredge up past mistakes and faults about which you can do nothing about. 2. Stick To The Subject. Limit this fight to this subject. Don't throw every other problem into it; take them one at a time. 7. Don't Hit Below the Belt. In your life together you discover each other's sensitive areas. Don't throw them at each other. 5. Aim To Resolve Rather Than To Win. Win/lose fights cause resentments to accumulate within a relationship. 8. Don't Quit; Work It Out. Bring the fight to a mutual conclusion. Otherwise it will just recur again and again. 4. Respect Crying. Crying is a valid response to how you feel and how the other feels. But don't let crying sidetrack you. Sometimes it is a signal for a time-out. 6. No Violence. Physical violence violates all the above rules for fighting by mutual consent. The issues are listed in decreasing order according to the number of times each was mentioned by the couples surveyed as follows: How to stimulate and arouse a wife to orgasm The use of contraceptives The detailed processes of sexual intercourse Suggestions on what to do and expect on the honeymoon The nature of the clitoris The different sexual timing of men and women how to meet the husband's sexual needs The spiritual and moral interpretation of the sexual relationship in marriage The elimination of fears and misconceptions The responsibility of husband and wife in meeting each other's sexual needs How to purchase contraceptives The discussion of the hymen The amount of time necessary for good sexual adjustment

It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting (Eccl.7:2). Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted (Matt.5:4). Choleric: Proclaiming liberty to the captives slaves in the bondage of sin whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven (Matt.16: 19). I lived in Chicago 4 years while pursuing graduate studies in math at U of Chicago, on full fellowship -- National Science Foundation Traineeship. I lived in Hyde Park neighborhood of course, in married student housing. I also attended Northern Baptist Theological Seminary one quarter -- concurrent with U of Chicago. Doing both proved to be too much for me, so I quit seminary although I was getting straight As. I also participated 2 years in a food coop called "Cornucopia" which eventually failed. It was citywide, wanting to assist poor people get better bang for their buck. I was the leader of a group of 30 families that participated. I collected the list of items, went down to Cornucopia location & purchased, & took them to location to be distributed amongst us. I loved the movie "Blues Brothers" starring James Belushi & Dan Ackroyd. Loved the high speed chases through various roads in Chicago which I remember & recognized. "Mission from god" -- sounds great to me ! I taught 1 year part-time math at Roosevelt University downtown, while working on PhD at U of Chicago. I also purchased religious books at U of Chicago seminary bookstore & Evangelical Theological Seminary bookstore north of Chicago. Also, purchased math books at a Hyde Park neighborhood bookstore. IN BLUES BROTHERS -- LOVED ESPECIALLY THE DANCE SCENE OUTSIDE OF MUSIC INSTRUMENT STORE... LOL! I have returned to Chicago once -- twenty years later on vacation with my family. I accidentally locked us out of the car! I cannot drive long distances now, nor afford to fly. So I guess I won't be going there again.

From what you've posted it seems that your dominant preference is subjective or feeling but you show the world either the intuitive or sensor-side of your decision making process. This is a good thing that you are able to switch from being sensor-oriented to intuitive. You're able to make decisions about things in a moments notice (concrete, non abstract) or really sit down and think about things (abstract, intuitive) before you commit to them. --- In christiansandperson ality@yahoogroup s.com, "trevorpoole2000" <trevorpoole2000@> wrote: > > Hello > > I've just been introduced to MTBI through my job. There are 2 books which give short questionairres on it -- "Please Understand Me" & the FIRST PRINTING ONLY of "One of a Kind" about the personality of kids. Another very good book on MBTI which shows how each type "thinks" is "People Types & Tiger Stripes". The understand me book questionairre is 64 questions, the other is 40 questions. Amazon.com sells stuff. Amazon & Alibris Books both sell used books, with indication of condition thereof. Amazon -- on books but not digital electronics -- guarantees refund of total cost from these outside vendors if unable to resolve within 30 days. I don't know if Alibris has a guarantee or not. When purchasing a used book, I always check BOTH, because either could be a better deal. > > Some tests have me down as an INFP, others as an ISFP. My best friend Kevin is ESTJ. My first wife Mary was ESFJ & ISFJ. My 2nd wife Joellene was ESFP, ENTP, and either ENFJ ( most likely ) or ENTJ. My maternal grandfather Jess was ISTP farmer. My mother Alpha is combo of ISTP & ISFP. She has "cross-sense" perceptions -- things perceived via one of the 5 senses, she sees via instinct somehow as via viewpoint of another sense. TERESA OF AVILA. I HAVE PAID FOR SOME FRIENDS TO RECORD SOME METHODIST CHOIR SONGS TO BE PLAYED AT MY FUNERAL -- GO OUT WITH JOY, I KNOW WHERE I AM GOING, and HE TOUCHED ME. CONVERT CD MUSIC FILES (CDA format ) TO MP-3. 1. Kevin told me a few days ago that the files had to be MP-3 or they would not play. I verified that CDA files would not play after internet transfer. Would WMA files play after internet email? I don't know. 2. He told me I could convert to MP-3 via Windows Media Player, but I found out that on my computer at least it required getting a license to their Player PLUS! However, when I attempted to download and purchase that, there was some errror so that did not work. 3. So I ended up using Record Now and iTunes mostly. Record Now has it available for Windows Vista, but I have Windows XP Home Edition with SP2. However, help from them found out that iTunes could do it and also how to use iTunes to do it. Record Now was on my computer already and installation of free iTunes also there. 4. I installed iTunes and also downloaded installed latest version. 5. This is when things got tricky. RECORD NOW application and instructions had somehow become inaccessable, although it is there somewhere. So I had to play around with iTunes to get things working for conversion ( of a CD disk ) to MP-3. The main requirements are 4: A. in preferences say "copy to disk" in advanced instead of default put it on the internet. B. There is a Import CD button at the bottom right of the screen to use and be sure to click select all songs desired before suggesting that and also to watch to progress report go by successively at the top middle via sliders. C. Be sure all files are selected via check mark before you say Import CD else it gets confusing. D. You say File/Put in Library somewhere in their to select. This is confusing where they should go and exact details of how to do it, but I managed to struggle through it finally in this one case. 6. These MP-3 files are HUGE! I don't know if there is a way to make them a lot larger except that in iTune preferences I also said to use the middle of 3 possible qualities of music noise. 7. iTunes does not play the MP-3 files. Windows Media Player can be used for that. TRANSFERS OF MP-3 FILES OVER THE INTERNET.-- AND PLAYING THEM. 1. I changed names to be same as song titles, instead of some ".. track .. " name, via right click/rename. I also moved them to another directory as a backup in case further MP-3 conversions of CDs might wipe out the files . 2. I found out that I can attach as many as I want in an email, but yahoo at least will only allow sending 2 at a time. It at least doesn't totally abort -- allows you to go back to the message and click "remove" on some of them. Therefore since I have 6 songs to send at this time of original works, I have to send 3 emails with them. 3. I have high-speed internet and even then an attach takes 10 minutes of one of them. I could start multiple attaches and allow myself to go away not having to watch progress all the time, but that didn't seem to save a lot of time, just some convenience. This would be much slower attaching/uploading if you have just a dial-up connection. Because of this I suggest that those of you with dial-up that might ever in the future want to send these to other friends should leave the yahoo email messages with them in your yahoo account ( if you have accounts elsewhere figure it out for yourselves ). Regardless of how you get the email formed ( with just 2 MP-3 attachments ) the internal email transfer goes very fast even with dial-up I presume unless going across the world is an issue etc. 4. At high-speed internet, both download open and download save took less than a minute for each file. However one friend with dial-up said that download took a long time, but you might want to do it anyway for several reasons -- just say Download ALL and go away for awhile. Don't do an Download open unless you want to come back to yahoo every time you want to play it. 5. What folder on your hard disk to put things when you download save may depend on the application which you intend to use to play them, in order to get the most convenience from it. Unknown so far. I had put them in a iTunes folder somewhere, but am using Windows Media Player to play them. 6. Windows Media Player when you use a CD allows you to say "play all songs on the CD". When put in an iTunes folder as I did it only allows to say "File/Open" and play one at a time, which is a big inconvenience. It would be nice if you could either say -- play everything in this folder, or play every selected file in this folder. So it is a little tedious playing MP-3 files via Windows Media Player so far. 7. One of the songs would not email transfer under new yahoo email. However it did under yahoo classic email. This was Venus Playgirl.
