I fucking hate this.
First off, yes I like to antagonise people. Some people NEED antagonising. They need to get their heads out of their arses and realise that there's a whole world of opinion and fact and reality that doesn't actually relate to their pea-brained fucking notions of the world.
Second, I do not operate in a pack. In fact, I'd go so far as to say I deliberately avoid packs and resent their involvement in something I am quite happy to deal with myself. Why? Because I'm an insular motherfucker, and the youngest girl who wants to prove she doesn't need her big brothers' help. Also, because in any group interaction, the interaction goes to the level of the lowest common denominator within that group. And on here that's pretty fucking low. So truth, reality and discussion go by the wayside and it becomes a war of 'I know you are but what am I' or a goddamn witch-hunt.
To the gentleman that thinks I'm persecuting him. Ironically, the first few times you made creepy remarks, I advocated for reasonableness - suggesting that you were being Devil's Advocate to generate discussion. It was my OWN assessment later that you were in fact a putrid cretin, and I have had my own opinion since. I didn't get you deleted, and I generally ignore you, but if you come TO ME don't expect me not to tell you exactly what I think of you.
For the record, even though I have a distinct aversion to the aforementioned person, I find absolutely NOTHING wrong with what Jasmine (OMG I'm naming people in a drama blog, there's no fucking hope for me) said in relation to his comment. An idea (which she raised) should supercede a discussion about a person. Here, it doesn't. And this is from someone who has been, amongst other things, an advocate for rape and sexual abuse survivors. I always find it interesting how hysteria allows people moral outrage, but means they don't have to act or change, or explore issues within themselves. Exploring these ideas, teasing out and then ingraining morality WITHIN is the only way to truly embed 'right' within a person. If you haven't been uncomfortable with a moral issue, you're ignoring it and when push comes to shove, you'll sway.
If she had turned that situation on its head gender-wise, there would be (admitted or not) a different perspective - and you only have to look at the female teachers and authority figures that get away with sexual abuse of minors to know that (whether you like it or not) it exists.
Please don't misuse and overuse these emotionally-charged words just so you can thump your chest and seem like you're noble - racism, paedophilia (with or without the a), sexism, bigotry, xenophobia, etc etc. Admittedly, I do use them where I know they will inflame the putrid cretins I'm talking to (usually because of a guilty conscience on their part). Again, I don't like bandwagons (DOES ANYBODY READ MY DAMN 'ABOUT ME'???????). I will openly mock those bandwagons, particularly when they get their tits in a tangle over something INCORRECT. I'm sorry, 'American' is NOT a race, it's a nationality. Germanic IS a race. Don't blame me, I didn't write history to suit my fucking self, I just happen to know it.
Happy New Year (I don't think I've mentioned, I hate NY's).
