A Father’s Love
By April Terry
Into the light she shall run,
Hiding from the world outside.
Not able to comprehend,
The lies and despair of that world.
Slowly she retreats,
To the only truth she knows.
She holds her head up,
Keeping her eyes on God.
She suddenly feels a tear,
Drip from her eye.
A tear of pain and heartache,
A tear of lost and deception.
Gentle he reaches out his hand,
Caressing her weeping face.
He catches every tear,
Not letting any hit the ground.
He looks deep into her eyes,
With love she’s never seen.
He wraps her in his arms,
Taking away her hurt.
Holding her close,
Letting her know that he is her father.
Showing her,
Just how much he loves her.
In an instant,
All her pain is gone.
Her tears soon fade away,
And dry within his hands.
She can’t help but to smile,
For she’s know her father love.
She remember,
Everything he has done for her.
She lifts her hands up,
And praises him holy name.
Giving her father,
Glory, honor and all her love.
