What are you waiting for?

10 Aug 2007 A relief but an inconvenience non the less. 10th August 2007 It is now August and still no seizures so that is coming up to 1 year and 3 months. However whilst tramping around London we went into a restaraunt and I had what was thought by the owner to be a panic attack. Husband had left me alone and gone off shopping. I suddenly felt very strange like a feeling of great dread and the next thing I knew the owner was telling me to breathe slowly and relax. I was on the floor and a little perplexed. At this point husband returned thinking the worst, that I had had a seizure. The owner said not and two kind ladies at the next table told him they had sat me on the floor because I was shaking and trembling whilst sitting at the table. It was a hot day, we had walked miles and I was a little tired prior. However, I ate lunch when it finally arrived and then we dashed off the the station for the train home. This was yet another long walk and I was OK for this and had it been a seuzure then I would have been totally drained. A few days later I spoke to my sister in law who is diabetic and she said that it sounded like I had gone hypo because that is what happens to her. She is diabetic and when we left their house that morning as a coincidence she had done sugar tests on us. Mine was four after eating breakfast and husbands was 17. Another few days later the same thing occured but this time I had an energy bar so sat down and ate it after which the feeling went and I did not lose consciousness. Strangely I am losing weight which normally occurs when I get low sugar as it has always been low but not according to an experiment carried out years ago in hospital to see if I was. When you get a reading of 2 and everyone elses is between 7 to 22 then that was deemed low by yet another diabetic in the family. I cannot say but I know for ages after surgery I was putting on weight and it would not shift. Now it is dropping off around the chest and ribs and thankfully off the hips and this is without particularly doing exercise like yoga. It is a case of I just make sure to keep glucose and carbohydrate bars available whilst out and top up when it occurs at home. I know I get exceedingly ratty and this is not like a mood swing but a very unreasonable reaction to something quite innocent that may have been said. Apart from this everything is just fine and I am still having the time of my life so I cannot complain about it and if it is a sugar deficit then that is easily rectified unlike it being the other way around.
