I relate to machines on a very deep level.

I think some algorithms are beautiful.

I have favorite numbers (that aren't integers).

I'm addicted to music.

I really do believe machines will take over the world one day and become our overlords, but I think it will be the best thing that ever happened to humanity.

I like lotteries (although I don't play). People who are bad at math should be taxed for the burden they put on society.

I think intentional bad grammar, and the use of words like "uh" and "mmmm", and lots of ellipses, give a level of expression to typed speech that would otherwise be lost, due to lack of inflection.

I think "Gödel, Escher, Bach" was the stupidest book ever written.

I'm a dork... I know. I don't care.

Music
Music is my number one addiction, and probably the only one I haven't made some (usually futile) attempt to "cure" in some way.
Here are just a few artists that I happen to like a lot (at the moment):

*The Velvet Underground
*Joy Division
*Syd Barrett
*Neil Diamond (if you laugh, you haven't heard enough Neil Diamond)
*Ennio Morricone
*Spacemen 3
*Talvin Singh
*Surjit Bindrakhia
*Ros Soreysothea
*The Brian Jonestown Massacre
*Windy and Carl
*Slint
*Public Enemy
*Motörhead
*Walter Carlos (pre-Wendy)
*Jesus And Mary Chain (but only Psychocandy)
*Slowdive (but only Pygmalion)
*Any record from a thriftstore with the words "Hammond", "Moog", "Exotic", or "HiFi" in the title.

I love to find new music that I like, and I love meeting people who can introduce me to new music. I am seriously addicted to it and I always need more.

Some types of music I like are (but are in no way limited to):

*punk (mostly old school and 80's H.C.),
*70's/80's metal (Priest, Sabbath, Maiden, etc.),
*ambient (ambient techno, lo-fi/spacerock, Brian Eno, TD, etc.),
*shoegaze (loves me some M.B.V.)
*bhangra
*krautrock
*classic 'indie' soul ("northen soul", or whatever you want to call it),
*60's garage (especially from other countries... Cambodia, Brazil, etc.)
*big band
*The Rat Pack (who doesn't like 'em?)
*some (old school!) country
*old school (meaning 50's/early 60's) electronica
*music that reminds me of my heritage (Springsteen, Smitherines, Misfits, Parliament, other NJ bands)
*the usual classic rock and 80's alternative/indie stuff

I have noticed myself starting to grow old, and less in touch with newer music, although I probably just don't know where to look. If you like anything like this or just like good music, PM or shoutbox me. I love to discover new (or old and forgotten) stuff. I might even know of some cool stuff you never heard of.

The playlist below is not really a sampler of my musical tastes, but more of a collection of songs I like that happen to fit a particular mood. I will probably change it often with some very different "moods".
