Remix Details...
I've been mentioning that I was recently approached (along with Bret of Blue Stahli fame) by another artist to do a remix. I don't often do remixes for other artists because the process is fairly extensive and generally takes a week or 2 to wrap up. God Himself already knows how many people (including my mom) would be annoyed if I took more time to work on anything else but Wish Upon a Blackstar.
The last remix I did was "Propane Nightmares" for Pendulum and I had been listening to Hold Your Color for years - it was cool to be able to remix a track from their new record. So for similar reasons, when I was hit up by BT a few weeks ago to mangle a track off his upcoming record, I knew I had to make it happen. He discovered Celldweller and Blue Stahli through his fanbase when asking them who they would like to hear remix his tracks. (Props to any of you who may have dropped the word.) What makes this deal even cooler for me, is that BT will be remixing "Louder Than Words" when I get that song wrapped (working on it boys and girls, working on it...) In fact there are more remix announcements I'd love to make but:
A) it's too soon (I need to look before I leap)
B) that isn't the purpose of this particular Klog post, so I'll try to stay focused
I'll get back to that at a later time, but for now the big news is that I'll be remixing a BT track and BT will be remixing a Celldweller track. In the words of the immortal Peter Griffin - "sweeeeeeet!"
I am remixing the first single "Suddenly" and Bret... well, I don't want to ruin it so go check his blog to see what song he's remixing and get his take on the whole thing. ( the phrase "schoolgirl on prom night" comes to mind, but I'm not sure why. )I've been popping into Bret's studio down the hall to check in and his remix has almost completely shredded my face off so far. If i don't post any pics of my face for awhile, you know why. We'll keep you guys posted on release details etc. as we get them.
I will be working on "Suddenly" & Wish Upon a Blackstar this week, speaking in Toronto this Saturday and then off to Lima, Peru for a week, so stay tuned and I'll keep you as updated as i can. For now, it's back to work for me.
