THE 8 SIMPLE RULES FOR DATING/ MARRYING MY SONS!

I saw this and I since I have two young men one who is 19 and the other 15 both whom are very well mannered and well raised gentlemen.  I could so related to this post when I ran across it earlier I just had too share.

We hear the Father of the girls side. So, as a mother of only sons.. I thought I might counter a few of these rules and show the mother of the boy's prospective. Dedicated to moms of sons everywhere!(PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ADD ON In the COMMENT section) Who said we need to stop at 8 rules anyway? Since after all, dating is just a game of "RING AROUND THE FINGER"…. Lets set down a few rules of the game..

Rule 1. (How to Dress) Please don’t dress like a hoochie momma when you go on a date with my son! Dear father of the girl … instead of sitting there talking about how you are going to be cleaning your gun and question my son about his intentions… why not look at your daughter see how she is dressed and then question her about her intentions?

Rule 2.(Calling in A Substitution)There are MANY MANY other girls your age, don’t fool yourself, you CAN be replaced! And, if you are replaced, have some self respect, don’t pull the "I am going to kill myself act". … you know what happens? Believe it or not you don’t get back together; Instead your prize is... a free 3 night stay in the psycho ward!

Rule 3 (GAME OVER)…Just cause you two broke up, this DOES NOT give you license to change my sons character. YOUR friends don’t need to be texting, calling or emailing my son to tell him what you think. Believe it or not.. it doesn’t matter what they think!

Rule 4. (Money, Money ,Money)When dating my teenage son, Please be considerate of his finances when ordering off a menu, he worked hard for that steak and that tank of gas to drive you there!

Rule 5. (The reality check) When you marry my son, REMEMBER-It takes TIME to acquire the things your parents have. He will treat you like a queen, but it will take several years before you move into that dream castle. Keep your expectations in check in the early years for Valentine and Christmas gifts.

Rule 6. (What to call me) You may wonder what to call me. Unlike the article that demands the “boy” call your dad "SIR"… We would prefer you call us mom, not only to our face… but also behind our backs.

Rule 7.(Contract Agreements) The vows you will be taking commit you to be faithful to my son “till death do you part” Be advise if you break that vow, I’ll immediately help expedite second part of that contract!

Rule 8 (Friend or Foe) We can be your BEST ally. .. Or your worst nightmare.. The choice is yours. … Oh and PS I can take your dad…

I had a friend comment on facebook that the killing of Bin Laden was just another mess of Bush's that Obama had to clean up.  So when I stated that in fact if she knew her history of al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden she would know that this mess she claims Obama cleaned up was a mess of President Clinton's.  That bin Laden was responsible for the first attack on the Trade Centre and if he had done his job and taken care of this piece of shit the attack on 9/11 would never had happened.  Her response to me was "Ain't even touching it Not worth it"  Am I wrong in my thinking?  Bill Clinton was President from 1993-2001; al-Qaeda began in 1991, 1993 the first attacks on the World Trade Centre took place. Below I've listed the history of the rest of the al-Qaeda/bin Laden activities during the Clinton administration.  So it's my opinion that if Clinton had taken care of Osama bin Laden the chances that 9/11 could have been prevented.

Bin Laden History:

1991: Osama bin Laden moves to Sudan and makes the country al-Qaeda's base. Training camps are set up and preparations made for jihad.

Bin Laden - whose aliases included the Prince, the Emir, Abu Abdallah, Mujahid Shaykh, Hajj, and the Director - stayed in the African country for five years and was believed to have begun a search for nuclear material.

:: 1993: Bin Laden linked by the US to the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Centre which killed six people and injured 1,000 more.

:: 1996: The US identifies bin Laden as the prime suspect in the bombing of the Khobar Towers military complex in Saudi Arabia in which 19 US servicemen are killed.

:: October 12 1996: Bin Laden formalises his campaign against America by issuing a declaration of jihad, or holy war, calling on muslims to kill US soldiers, civilians and allies.

:: August 1998: The first acknowledged mass-casualty al-Qaeda attack takes place at the US Embassy in Kenya. A total of 219 people are killed.

A pick-up truck packed with explosives blows up outside the four-storey building in the heart of the capital Nairobi.

Minutes later, 12 people are killed when another bomb shatters the US Embassy in Dar es Salaam in neighbouring Tanzania.

About 5,000 people are injured in the two blasts.

:: October 2000: A suicide attack on the USS Cole in Yemen blows a 40sq ft hole in the ship's hull, killing 17 sailors and injuring 39.

If Obama really was cleaning up a Bush mess then that's awesome, but in fact this is a mess that goes back way further than Bush. I just wish people would have their facts correct before they post stuff. And personally I don't think Barack Obama should be getting credit for this either... He wasn't the one who risked his life to take down this man... Our brave men and women in the military put their lives on the line to hunt this man down and kill him.  Those are the one's who get credit for this, not the man who sits safely behind a desk and doesn't risk his life for nothing or noone.

Just my thoughts....

Detroit Tigers 2011

February 14, 2011 marks the start of Spring Training as it's reporting day for pitchers and catchers! YAY! I have high hopes for my Detroit Tigers this year.  A little sad that Johnny Damon moved onto Tampa Bay, he seemed like a good fit with the Tigers, but we seemed to have gotten a decent DH in replacement of him in Victor Martinez.  Also I was sad to see that Jeremy Bondermans contract was also not resigned only because as a person he was such a wonderful guy and has been with the Detroit Tigers his entire career, through some really bad years.  But as a pitcher he has just lost his mojo, hopefully he can find a good fit with another team. Was very disappointed that Armando Gallaraga was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks and hopes that he does well there with for Manager Kirk Gibson and Coach Alan Trammell (both former Detroit Tiger stars).  I will be keeping an eye on the D-Backs this year just for that reason alone.  Happy to see that Joel Zumaya is back and healthy and looking for good things from him this year.  I feel good about the season and can't wait for BASEBALL to start now that fooball is finally over!

Feb. 13, 2011

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) - The offseason is finally ending for the Detroit Tigers, after it started way too early for a few of the team's key players.

Although the Tigers made some big additions in the offseason, much of the focus this spring will be on three players whose 2010 campaigns were cut short by injuries. Magglio Ordonez is coming back from a broken right ankle, Carlos Guillen is recovering from a left knee injury and Joel Zumaya returns after fracturing his right elbow.

Those three are among the Tigers with the most to prove this season. Detroit added Victor Martinez, Joaquin Benoit and Brad Penny in the offseason, and the team hopes better health in 2011 will help fuel a run at the AL Central title.

"If you give us health, I'll take my chances," general manager Dave Dombrowski said.

The Tigers went 81-81 last season, in part because they couldn't keep their lineup intact after a strong start. Ordonez played only 84 games and was done for the year after he fractured his ankle sliding into home plate July 24. Detroit actually declined his $15 million option but brought him back to hit in the middle of the lineup on a one-year, $10 million deal.

Although the Tigers won't be on the hook for a long-term commitment, they were obviously satisfied that Ordonez was making a strong recovery from the injury, and he was upbeat when talking about it last month.

"It's like it didn't happen," Ordonez said.

Zumaya, the hard-throwing right-hander who helped the Tigers to an American League pennant in 2006, hasn't pitched more than 31 games in a season since then. Appearance No. 31 last year was a gruesome one. He began writhing in pain after a pitch June 28, but the news of a fractured elbow was actually somewhat encouraging since there was no ligament damage.

Zumaya has said he'll be able to throw without restrictions in the first workout, which for pitchers and catchers takes place Monday.

Guillen's timetable has been less clear. He hurt his knee Aug. 16 while turning a game-ending double play against the Yankees. Now the second base spot appears up in the air. Will Rhymes started 46 games there last year, Guillen started 45 and Scott Sizemore started 36.

That spot isn't the only question mark heading into spring training. Martinez was brought in to be a designated hitter and catch occasionally. How often will he catch? That probably depends on how well starting catcher Alex Avila hits.

Penny joins a rotation that also adds Phil Coke, a left-hander who has pitched almost entirely in relief in his three major league seasons. Penny has his own history of injuries, including a back problem that limited him to nine starts in 2010. But if he and Coke pan out, they could join Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer and Rick Porcello to form quite a rotation.

"I love the potential of our pitching staff," manager Jim Leyland said.

Benoit, who missed all of 2009 following rotator cuff surgery, had a 1.34 ERA as a setup man for Tampa Bay last season. Detroit signed him to a $16.5 million, three-year contract.

He'll join a potentially dominant bullpen that also includes Zumaya and Jose Valverde, who saved 26 games last year.

"The owner and GM did a good job this offseason to give us more talent," Valverde said. "We have no excuses. It's our job to go to the World Series like these guys did in 2006 -- and to win it this time."

It's that time of year again and normally I don't make resolutions because to be honest I almost never keep them lol But this year I'm going to make them and I'm going to do my best in keeping them.  What's the saying "Don't Quit Quitting"! So here goes in no particular order of importance:

1. It's time to get back to exercising at least 3 times a week and eating healthier. I thought maybe this year I'd like to possibly take up running (won't guarantee this will happen but I might try it at some point).

2. Remove the toxic people from my life and surround myself with more positive, happy, and supportive people.

3. Catch up on all my reading that I've fallen behind on. I have a box full of books that I've been meaning to read and if that means I have to spend less time on the computer, then I'll be MIA around here a little bit more.

4. Spend more time focusing on my photography. I went to school for it, so I might as well do something with it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful New Years! Out with the OLD and in with the NEW!!
