Okay, so it must be a Walmart thing, it seems this is the place where everyone's common sense and etiquette just get left at the door (or maybe it is just my warped view, idk). Standing in line at the bank or at a register it doesn't really matter because it happens i both places. There are four people waiting to continue on with their business, and the person at the head has already concluded theirs but keeps on talking and talking, while everyone else waiting to get their business on. I mean, yes it should be that you talk to cashiers and bank tellers, and if there is no line continue on a little more, that is called civilization. Yet, there is a time when the interactive conversation should be curtailed so that other people can take care off their business also. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one that is always in a rush like a busy bee (nope, not at all, sometimes though I have to admit), and it doesn't overly bother me when my time it put on by someone else, after all I like talking to people and helping them. Hhhhmmm, must be my time of the month! Oh, s**t! Wait strike that, I'm a guy, doesn't hold water for me. Well, just a thought and another peeve. I'll get over it, I always do, as a matter of fact, I'm feeling better already! Peace peeps! Dr. G

Thank you for all your prayers and concern. NOAA has put Dolly to a Cat 1 hurricane with a max sustained winds of 75 MPH. She has picked up power and slowed her progress. Approximate track appears to be heading directly towards Brownsville area, please keep those people in your prayer. As with any hurricane it can change any minute. Example is Rita which appeared that it was going to hit us dead on then veered and hit east Texas and Louisiana, so anything is still possible while she is still that far out. Will update her here as I can before bed.

Though it really ticks me off, I often do the exact thing. When did people stop reading English? When did they stop caring about stuff like cross walks, stop signs, stop lights etc? This has been growing on my nerves for some time. While all Wal-Mart how many people actually go in the Enter and out the Exit? Then when you stare at them they act like you are the idiot! It wouldn't be so bad if it was children or the younger generation, but it is also the older generation, and they will not move out of your way when they see you have a full basket. The same inside the store, people will walk right in front of you and not care at all, and then look like your at fault! Where is the American I knew and grew up with, respectful and had manners. Have we fallen so far that we don't care about no one but ourselves? Am I the only one that feels this way?

Many of my friends are either in retail or some sort of customer service job/career. Having been there myself customer service as an electrician and retail as an assistant manager at a shoe store, we know that people can be mean and rude, but also nice and accommodating. There are always ignorant people or stupid people in the world, we can't help that but it is understandable. What really gets to me are the people who, for the most part, are intelligent and knowledgeable, but when things don't go their way or they don't get their way they resort to Neanderthal behavior, and intentionally, either consciously or subconsciously, act ignorant or stupid or both. Do they really think that this demeanor is intimidating to one, such as ourselves who could rgara about their tantrums, because there are other people to serve and we will but them in the folder of irrelevance once the time clock has been punched and we have that calming down drink. I love to watch people, people are fascinating, especially when they don't know they are being watched. Confrontational people, that try intimidation by being verbally abusive or crowding your personal space need to get a lesson from Miss Manners, for the old saying is true, you catch more bees with honey. Are you not more likely to be accommodating, helpful and go that extra mile for people who are nice and treat you like a person with respect? or for those that are mean and vicious and treat you like a dog? Just my two cents for the day after a long day at work.

Okay, new thought here, after doing this for a while this is kind of the Doctors pop quiz. After listening to the many variations of relationship woes, many lasting for years or short time, it is now quiz time. What do you really know about your b/f, g/f, fiancee, spouse, s/o? Can you really name 10 things about them or even better yet 10 things that you know about them that they either don't know themselves or don't think you know? Need a hint to start? Okay, what is their favorite song to slow dance to? Could you go to a store and buy something for them and it be the right size? What is their shoe size? Should I continue? Wish I could hear the comments that make you all think, but really, are they your best friend or not? Just my 2 cents.

Ever have that feeling you are in a good mood, and then you just feel blue all of a sudden with no reason or cause? You are in a funk, and there is not reason to feel this way and it gets your mind wandering about a lot of different things, and even the normal stuff that puts you in a good mood doesn't seem to work. Then as suddenly as it came on it is gone and your left thinking what the funk was that? Could last seconds, minutes hours or longer, but you never really know why, and for awhile you dwell on it then even that mystery is gone. Lost.

This will be my last update on Hurricane Dolly. Even though she is over land, she still has sustained winds up to 75 MPH and expected rainfall accumulations from 8 to 12 inches with some isolated areas up to 20 inches over the next few days, with possible flooding over south Texas and possible Tornado activity throughout the night. For those that have had me in your prayers or worried about me or both I thank you and appreciate it tremendously. Now we need to keep those that rin this are in our prayers as well as their families, that all might be safe. God Bless you all, and God watch over those in the area of Dolly's path. Dr. G

Hurricane warnings stays in effect from Corpus Christi, TX to Rio San Fernando, Mexico. Storm Center is 55 miles east of Brownsville, moving northwest at 8 mph. Maximum sustained winds are 85 mph and pressure is 972 mb. Hurricane winds extend 25 miles and tropical storm force winds extend outward 140 miles and storm surge of 4 to 6 feet. Dolly is expected to rainfall accumulations of 6 to 10 inches with isolated amounts up to 15 inches. Landfall is expected near the Mexico-Texas border around midday today and can possibly increase to a Category 2 before making landfall. Next Public Advisory at 8am and 10 am cdt.
