SUMMER SINFEST ROCK n ROLL PEEP SHOW 2008

WHAT IS SINFEST????

Summer Sinfest is a unique adult oriented, explorative and interactive, collaborative installation art experience focusing on the beauties and joys of the assorted Alternative lifestyles….

What does that mean?

The event is UNIQUE because it is so different from all the other similarly categorized events, due to the contributions of the staff and their support network. It is not a dance party, although we do provide two of Texas' best DJ's for the event AND Houston's premiere Rock-a-billy band, The Dollyrockers! Summer Sinfest is not just about stage performances, as we have vendors from over 3 states, an Art gallery and an interactive Dungeon to entice our audience too. It is supported by the various Pansexual and Leather BDSM community groups AND the Swinger's crowd through their participation in our Community Lounge. Rarely do the three of these come together in harmony, but in the Serpentarium we encourage "Unity in Diversity" by providing them with space for social networking.

ADULT ORIENTED covers the fact that everyone welcome must be over 18 to enter. There are many sexually related topics and taboos being explored and exploited through out the event in forms of entertainment, artistic endeavors, shopping opportunities and self-exploration within the venue.

EXPLORATIVE natures will enjoy the many sights, sounds and scents of Sinfest. With a venue large enough to support over a thousand attendees – The Meridian – Sinfest has room to present a show in one room, vendors within another and then space for the wonderful works of art with an entire section dedicated to the full Dungeon provided by J.A.S. The Mad Welder, Twisted Interiors AND the Houston Bondage Special Interest Group. This equipment is open to the general public with a security staff created of experienced Community member volunteers.

INTERACTIVE really comes to play within the Dungeon. The Community Volunteers include people who are willing to advise or mentor a player with questions. On staff to play with by attendees request is a fabulous professional Dominatrix and Educator, Miss Kayla of Austin and San Antonio. For those curious about bondage, the Bondage SIG leaders are providing a crew just for tying you up! All of this is INCLUDED in your ticket to Sinfest.

None of Summer Sinfest would happen without the COLLABORATION of everyone involved. Lead by the two ladies who also head up The Serpentarium – Whitney Lydya and Michelle Narum/From Hell – volunteers assist with everything from the initial flyer/promotional designs to tear down at the end of the event with lots more between. Each performance troupe or solo performer is on stage because they volunteered. The vendors each contribute two items to the raffle benefiting Legacy Community Health Services instead of paying a vendors registration fee. All staff is built from folks who just really want to bring something special to Texas one night a year.

Together we make it unforgettable!

As for the INSTALLATION ART EXPERIENCE aspect, well, we feel that phrase is self-explanatory.

But for those of you who thrive on information, Wickapedia defines it as

"Installation art uses sculptural materials and other media to modify the way a particular space is experienced. Installation art is not necessarily confined to gallery spaces and can be any material intervention in everyday public or private spaces.

Installation art incorporates almost any media to create an experience in a particular environment. Materials used in contemporary installation art range from everyday and natural materials to new media such as video, sound, performance, computers and the internet. Some installations are site-specific in that they are designed to only exist in the space for which they were created.

My house is NOT the SPCA Current mood: distressed Category: Pets and Animals As many of you know, I already have 5 dogs because no one would adopt the three pups I had left of Lizzie's first litter. I spent $750.00 to get all the females fixed with shots and additional money for tie outs because they kept jumping the fence. I'm doing good just to keep them fed. Anyway, tonight about 10 pm my dogs started barking. I turned my light off and there was a guy standing at my back fence. I didn't go out there so, he went and got into a yellow VW bug and drove off. I thought it was really strange and just blew it off. About 11pm the dogs started barking again. This time I saw something white on the inside of my fence and thought it was one of my dogs that had gotten loose and was injured. I let my inside dog go out ahead of me as we both ran to the fence. Just as I got half way to the fence, the same yellow VW sped away and the white thing was a female puppy. Whoever the man was, left a small amount of dog food in a black trash bag. She looks to be about 2-3 months old. The dog was burning up with fever. I brought her in and got her some water. She has little red spots all over her and it looks as though another dog attacked her as there are "healing" puncture wounds on her belly. I seriously thought she was dead when I first got out there. She's fine now. She looks as though someone shaved her in spots. She's white with a spot of brindle on her back. Folks, I'm begging, "Please find it in your heart to take her or one of the other dogs I have left. Please!" My budget is already stretched to the max feeding the ones I have. My physical body is taxed caring for them. If you are the man in the yellow VW bug, please come get her. Take her to the ASPCA or another shelter. I'm taking care of my dogs. If you knew you couldn't care for her then why did you get her in the first place? There have been 3 dog "dump-offs" over here in the last 6 months. It's not fair to these animals to get attached and dependent to an owner then left to fend for themselves. I'm sorry for the rant but it just breaks my heart to have to take them to a shelter. The last time I did it, I started crying as I kissed the dogs goodbye. I can only hope and pray that someone will adopt them and care for them.

July 19th...come be sinful

Summer Sinfest™ is all about fun, salaciousness, and down right sexy entertainment. We provide a plethora of unique visual, artistic, and sensual experiences. New in 2008 we have added an EROTIC ART GALLERY. Artists from around the globe have been invited to show their work. We have selected those that have embodied the art of flesh and fetish. You won't have to wonder when a single stage act is starting because all night long the stages will be filled with sinful performances. The main stage will hold a fetish inspired 3 Act play called The Watcher along with some special guests coming from all across Texas and beyond to dazzle you with astounding S&M performances. Of course there will be vendors!!! Flogs, whips, corsets, lace and most assured leather. We had so many responses from vendors wanting to vend this event we had to pick only the best craft/artists in the industry. Most of our vendors offer handmade items to customize your pleasures. The VIP hours of 8p-10p are packed with special performances, vendor discounts, surprises, give-a-ways, and a VIP ONLY raffle that is sure to please anyone. What should I wear? It is Summer Sinfest™ so anything summery and sinfully sexy. The truth is you can wear what you want - there is no dress code. The joy of a fetish event is that "YOU CAN WEAR WHATEVER YOU WANT". We do have to obey the TABC laws so genitals must be covered, there must be at least 1" of material covering up your ass crack, and for women, your nipples and areolas must be covered. Anything else is all good. If you have always thought of dressing a particular way but have never had the courage to do it, this is the opportunity to do it. We have had everything from less than a bikini to a full set of armor. Be wild, be creative, be kinky, our theme for the evening is Rock-N-Roll Peepshow. So rock out in some of your wildest gear. There may be a surprise for you if you do. What ages are allowed? 18+ are welcome WITH I.D. NO exceptions please. (Bringing your Mother/Brother/Cousin is not I.D.) I am handicapped, can I still have fun there? Of course!! The venue is wheelchair accessible; please contact us if you need any assistance We also are offering ASL interpreters for those of you that require this service. There are a limited number of interpreters available so please let us know as soon as possible if you are requiring one. Service animals (with proper I.D.) welcome and accommodated with their own gifts. Please let us know you're coming to make sure you and your animal have a great time. (Stud services not offered) Where is Summer Sinfest™ being held? The Meridian - 1503 Chartres, Houston, TX 77003, (713) 225-1717 How much are tickets and where can I get them? A lot cheaper than any other fetish event in Houston!!! Meridian has an outdoor smoking area on the Bell St. side of the building. There is no smoking inside. As of Sep. 1st. 2007, the City of Houston has banned smoking in all public places. Don't worry we have figured out a way to bring the entertainment and debauchery for a smokin' good time out to this area that even non-smokers will want to be there! Are Cameras allowed? No. Cameras/camera phones are forbidden at Summer Sinfest™. We will have a professional photographer in a designated area for you to have a memento of your wild night. There will be press there covering the event that have been instructed to capture ONLY the stage and those they have been given expressed permission to photograph. We know many have camera phones and we can not police everyone, every minute of the event. Those caught taking pictures with out a press pass will be escorted out of the venue/event. No exceptions, No refunds. Keep in mind this is a public event. May we bring a toy bag? Absolutely! There will be a full dungeon. You must play at your own risk We will have Dungeon Monitors and a medic available. It is your responsibility that they are bored with nothing to do. Any scene will be stopped by a Dungeon Monitor if deemed a hazard of any kind. NO FIRE play allowed please. TABC laws apply. Is there a coat check? It is JULY - why are you wearing a coat? No we will not have a coat check. Where do we park? Parking is available for only $5 in the large lot on Bell Street next to The Meridian. There will be security watching the lot and they will be more than happy to escort you to and from the venue. Is there a hotel nearby if we need a place to stay? We are working with 2 local hotels to get you the best deal all around. We will post all the hotel information when we finalize with them. Are the girls on the flyers going to be there? YES!! EVERY model used for any of our promotions will be there. They all will be at the V.I.P Meet and Greet. We hope you enjoy them. Stop by their table and say hello, grab an autograph and smile. Be careful some of them bite! Copyright © 2007-2008 SummerSinfest.com™, All Rights Reserved. Information is subject to change without notice. I've seen lots of bulletins flying around, multiple blogs and profiles that say the word "Drama". I just looked in Wikipedia and found the definition for it's slang usage to be: 'Drama' is also used colloquially to refer to unnecessary emotional turmoil, such as that created through social events, gossip,or baby mamas.[1] So, with the official definition above, what did you think "drama" was in the context of a sentence prior to having read the definition? Was what you thought similar to the definition? When a person says, "I don't want drama", what are they saying? They don't want to be involved in emotional turmoil? They don't want to watch it or they don't want to hear about it? When someone calls someone a "Drama Queen" or a "Drama King" does that mean the person is creating unnecessary emotional turmoil, talking about emotional turmoil that happened to them or gossipping about someone else's emotional turmoil? Your assignment is to answer these questions to the best of your knowledge. I also want you to repost this and see how many different answers you receive and then blog about it after I include this in my blogs. I would truly like to see what other people have to say about "drama". The Goddess CoverDBabe has set you to task! Get busy!
