Southwest Spaghetti Pie

INGREDIENTS:
8 ounces uncooked spaghetti
1/2 cup skim milk
1 egg
8 ounces ground pork
1 chopped cup onion
1 chopped medium green bell pepper
1 large minced clove garlic
1 minced jalapeño pepper
1 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp oregano
salt to taste
pepper to taste
1 16 oz can low-sodium tomato sauce
8 ounces grated Monterey Jack cheese
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 425º F.
2. Prepare pasta according to package directions; drain.
3. Whisk together the milk and egg and mix with the hot pasta in a greased 9 x 12 x 2-inch baking dish.
4. Cook the pork, onion, green pepper, garlic and jalapeño together in a large skillet over medium heat for about 6 minutes, until the pork is cooked through.
5. Drain off excess fat.
6. Stir the chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper and tomato sauce into the pork and cook for about 2 minutes.
7. Spread the meat-tomato mixture over the pasta in the baking dish.
8. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the top.
9. Bake in the lower third of the oven for about 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the casserole begins to bubble.
10. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
