I've recently been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, no biggie really now I have the meds to control my levels, however every time I go to my new doc she goes off about me being a smoker. I stopped while trying to get pregnant and stupidly started up again when my son was 8 months old. I know it's a disgusting habit and bad for me but I don't smoke that much, or in my home or vehicle. I'd like to start trying for another baby soon, I am high risk and plan to stop well before trying again for another.
My doctor suggested Chantix, a stop smoking aid, but the prescription is over $200 a month! She is on and on about it and to be honest I dread going to see her she really does make me feel so bad about smoking.
Question is should I try cold turkey and risk two weeks of being close to strangling anyone in a half a mile radius while quitting or suck it up and pay for the prescription that supposedly will help me quit easily, while getting the doc off my back!? |
