What are you waiting for?
Have you ever had a time in your life where you wondered what the world would be like if you weren't in it or you had made different decissions than the ones you had? I wonder that from time to time and wonder where the hell is Clarence (reference to 'Its a wonderful life') Whether we choose to admit it or not we have impact on the world around us even in a slight ever so gentle manner, if we weren't in a given situation at any given time would those around us make the same choices? I'd like to know how some of those around me currently , not in the Fu world but in real life where my presence has impact, how their lives would have been different than it is now if I had been removed from this earth all those years ago. How long would my wife have been in her deep state of depression and self abuse if she didn't latch on and try and save me from myself? Would she have finished her degree earlier, would she still have 3 kids and how would they be different than the people who call me dad? And what about my family? How would the woman who screamed I ruined her life from the moment I was conceived for nearly 40 years , how would her life have been different? Would she have finished high school on time instead of going back? Would she have gone out with my sisters dad and created her? And who would be here now in the twilight days to comfort and help her through the all too early moments of her final act?
What would be different? ... Lots. There would have been several more cases in the 80's of battered women and perhaps even some of them not making it to the end of that particular year (yeah , it was that brutal) Would anyone have stopped on that road and seen the lady with altzheimer who escaped the retirment home and collapsed on the sidewalk behind the kinda tall weeds and helped her get back to where she could get the help she needed? Would anyone have gotten involved when that mouthy kinda scrawny kid was getting roughed up outside the arcade by 4 guys, Would Joe's kids ( aged 9 and 3 at the time) have gone without a christmas if it weren't for 2 psycho kids donned in leather coats and Santa hats breaking in his trailer at 2 in the morning on a snowy christmas eve , bringing a small tree w/lights and a back seat full of gifts for them... how would they have felt on Christmas morning if Santa didn't show up? What would have happened to the lady in the 7-11 on that late night shift if some insomniac didn't come in for that super gulp while she was getting robbed? would the place still been robbed or would she have been hurt over a few bucks? Luckily for her she didn't I guess
I guess it all balances out the good and the bad that happens in everyday life whether its to us , those around us or people we have casual contact with , its all a subtle blend of Its a wonderful life mixed with the Butterfly effect. I still wanna know how things would been if I hadn't been here , so c'mon Clarence its time to run the film and enlighten me
