"You Say It Best" by Allison Krauss.
My daughter and I danced to this at her wedding. We're both good dancers and we tried to rehearse a couple of times, but it never came together for us. Perhaps it was my fault, but dancing, like so many other things in life, is a cooperative endeavor and the blame for clumsiness must be shared.
Maybe it was the wine. Maybe it was the spirit of the moment. But when the DJ called for the father-daughter dance, we glided onto the floor and moved and turned in unison with perfect grace. She smiled at me. We talked and laughed – oblivious to the eyes that watched us.
It all seems like a dream from a long time ago now. Just one of those special moments that makes memories sweet.
