Sitting here in the light
I feel so exposed
Everyone can see it
Everyone knows

They see the darkness
That lurks inside me
The pain and the aguish
That longs to be free

It can’t be contained
Under the thin layer of skin
That is where it all
Slowly begins

Pressing cold blades
And sliding them across
You begin to feel better
All the emotion is lost

All the skin slowly opens
You see droplets form
This is who you’ve become
This is the norm

It’s much easier here
Where pain can’t keep hold
The tears and the sadness
Have grown so old

Tired of crying
Tired of existing on this plain
Makes the blood come
And start to fall like rain

Drenching your soul
Covering everything else
Making it disappear
You get back to being yourself

Anger, rage, betrayal.
Fear, pain, emptiness.
All these things trapped inside
Pulling me into a dark abyss.

The dark is so cold
So enveloping, so vast
It pulls you in close
These feelings won't pass.

Part of you wants
To run into the light
Get into the warmth
Do what others say is right

But you like it here
In this hole where nothing is seen
It's so much easier
It's where you have been

So many years
you have been in this place
Staying in here
It's easy to face

The things in your life
That have gone so awry
The things in your life
That have made you cry

It's easy to feel safe
From all emotion inside
If you just stay here
You don't have to hide.

Wandering through the darkness Blindly feeling for a way to escape Nothing to hold on to Nothing to feel safe Groping, grabbing for something Something that is real The only thing to grab onto Is the unflinching way that you feel. As empty as the darkness As vast as time and space Searching for a light or a hope But it smacks you in the face Life's not so pleasurable There's nothing to gain Despite all the promises There is nothing but pain So why go through this Why endure it all It would seem so much easier To let yourself fall. Fall into the darkness Encompassed by it's cold Let it surround you Let it take hold. In darkness it's safe No one can see you cry No one knows how much You truly want to die. You can make your own choices They can't change your mind You can end it all now Leave it all behind. So ball up and do it Stop talking about it, go get your peace Make it so quick and so painless One final release.
