Ok now it’s time to state an opinion and this is the soul opinion of this boy and no other. When is enough? Oh, you have no idea what I am referring to…I can feel that blank stare into the computer screen. And no I am not talking about Anniversary issues or longevity of that or anything remotely close to me and Mrs B. What I am talking about is this. News casters breaking into regular TV programming and preempting that broadcast with weather updates on critical situations. Ok, I am no dummy and understand the importance of said issue. My objection is this. Break in yes, have a clue what you are about to say. Make sense and give crucial information so that those who view the telecast can inform those who do not know period! Plain and simple to the point and took me oh say 15 seconds to write. I still feel that blank stare into the computer screen and the scratching of the head followed by…oh let’s see a thought process that Marty has driven the NUT-Wagon into the sublimed world of the unstable. No, oh contraire…hmmm Now I sound French, but I am not. Ok let me paint the portrait a little more clearly for you the viewer… Last night about 8:45 up on the screen in the corner lower where it’s not interfering with the telecast was the little weather thingy, cool and to the point havoc was to hit the surrounding counties we live in and around. So hearing impaired, gooberestic (I know it’s a Marty-ism and it means 3 bricks shy of a load) and those barely watching TV should know or would know that the picture of our little peace of heaven was under attack by Mother Nature and she was taking no prisoners. So immediately knowing our great South Bend coverage of news casters we were going to get a visit on the air from the news team. Like clock work Channel 16 (NBC) popped in and shown their little Doppler weather prognosticator and his little side kick the weather man pointing and not making more sense then two 3 year olds fighting over a piece of gum that was old and found on the floor…don’t ask! So he gets on and looks like he was drug from his bed and hair all messy and let’s just say the man looked like he binged once too many times and was not quite over it yet. So he proceeds to explain about said weather pattern and the possibility of gloom and doom and the atmosphere is ripe for this and that and you best take cover if you are in it’s path. Well…yeah there were pretty colors all over the screen the map was set in motion and storms were hitting in areas he pointed to…for 50 minutes!!!!!! Going over, and over and over what could happen…You know, there was not this much coverage when Kennedy was shot! I think less time was spent on the shuttle disaster and while all this was going on I missed Last comic standing. Which did not really matter because the weather man was trying to scare the crap out of the viewing public and I was reiterating every word he said and I only repeated myself 5 times because if I would have done it as many times as he did, Bonnie and I would not be celebrating 32 today I would have been in the Hospital getting a chair removed from my throat. Yeah just shut up is the word I am looking for. So I ask you this: When is enough? Say what’s happening and allow the regular telecast to run and break in if the doom and gloom transpires. I mean come on… If you seen that wishy-washy telecast by News 16 then you have a clue of what I am talking about…if not then this is just the stylish ramblings of a crazy man and your normal broadcasting will reappear momentarily… Have a wonderful day, and if in case just if you were in the path as we were not, I truly hope the rain and doom and gloom did not hurt you or yours.
