Yesterday when I went to vote one of the volunteers at the polling place was an elderly man… He had on the table his WWII hat…. We chatted a lil about the Memorial in Washington and how he was able to see it in April of this year…
After voting I almost wept walking to my van thinking that this poor man, in his lifetime, had to see a candidate for President of the USA that stood for the same ideals that we fought against in WWII. NEVER thinking there was a chance BO would be elected….
I went to bed at around 8:30 last night even before Ohio was declared D because the vote count with <2% was so bad it was clear who was about to win… I did not cry… I was just depressed and saddened for the USA…
I woke up this morning and said to myself… Why are you shocked??? Remember how you felt the first time Klinton got elected and you did not think America could be that stupid?
Then after Monica Lewinsky and blow jobs in the White House you told all your friends that America won’t and can’t be that stupid again??
One part of me says to find a nation that is a growing democracy and Christian and move there quick, and the other half of still says, Tom Cat, you can still help wake up the ½ of America that is dumb…
For now, I will keep trying…
