What are you waiting for?

When did the idea of a romance from the internet become ill-concieved? perhaps it has always been so. So why has so many people took to looking to the internet as a resourse as the proverbial "bar scene"? Even I succumbed to the temptation of viewing the internet as a "viable" source of affection. I ask innocently, can the romantic chemistry compare to the actual chanced encounter at the gas station? or even the melon isle at the grocery store? Or can it be that Dateme.com has all the answers. Remember I'm biased. Ive always said that mine is a destined lover that has waited all her life to love me for who I am. That can be taken for or against this discussion. the pros are as follows: Yeah, you find many people who has found happiness within a click of a mouse. those commercials sure are convincing. it even boasted of a couple meeting within their site and marrying within six months! Six months?! Man, that couldve been me! The net-mantics (internet romantics, if you havent figured that out by now) always seem to know exactly what to say. And if you are well-liked, they give you support in all that you do. In my circle of web-folks that i deal with, they are witty, intelligent and trustworthy. almost refractions of myself. alot of suitors look for reflections of themselves in a romance, either themselves,..or their mothers,... go figure. Some net-mantics even travel thousands of miles for social events just to involve themselves more in the lives of the people they touch. I think that is romantic, period. Peppermint Patty said "romance like that never happens to girls with big noses". I say romance like that never happens to nice guys. Like ive stated earlier, well-liked folks get visited. since ive never been visited, ah, im just pointing fingers... Now the Cons: Everybody's Mommas frown upon televised romances, (but watch the stories everyday...) Its almost shameful that everyday you will spurn the guy that really likes you at the office for a picture on your hard drive. the arguement here is that if you really believe in destiny, destiny will bring you together, no matter how far apart you are. I'm still waiting on Janet Jackson to break down in front of my house... The sad thing is that with those same net-mantics, they cant be yours only. they have to be there for the 45 other people in the chat room that day. And if you are as selfish as I am when it comes to heart matters, you arent having that. Oh how many days have you walked in and mrsladyfriend2312 is talking to this other dude. Just last night she was blowing up your whisper screen saying how cute you were. Now today, she's tryin to hook up with joeblow234. What kinda crap is that? Well my friend i'll tell you. Net romance is like one of those caffeine pills. Its good for about an hr or so, but then it'll leave you wanting some real food and the white mouth. I dont know tho. I draw these conclusions based on my experience with love across the internet. Somebody may have fared better than i
