Well apparently I managed to offend my family this past week. All because I asked for the car back. My grandmother gave me her car when it was apparent she was no longer going to be able to drive. Technically it is for my daughter when she turns 16 and gets her drivers license however everything is in my name - taxes, tag, title and insurance. My mom has been driving the car since she came back from Florida last June/July because my dad’s vehicle wasn’t working right and he was using her vehicle. I didn’t mind because I didn’t need a second car yet. Well my boyfriend moved in back in Nov and my parents gave him a non-working vehicle they had in Feb - a white van - and he is going to do some house painting for them when it warms up. Well it took about $300 to get the van on the road, tag, title, battery and tires - not bad in my opinion. The van sucks oil and wasn’t taken care of very well by the previous owners so there are some issues with it and we understood that when we started working on it. Lately the van has been acting more and more like a dying vehicle. So I asked for my car back from my mom. Dad has yet to get his van fixed so I didn’t make it a "I need it now" request but a "I need it when you can manage" request. Apparently I broke the family rule by asking for something back and now no one is really talking to me except in short sentences if that. My brother called and told me I shouldn’t be asking for the car back that it was mom’s only vehicle and I was inconveniencing him because now he had to fix dad’s van and that the only thing wrong with the white van was the spark plug (he hasn’t been over to look at it). Then he started prying into my life about what Jason was doing - working - etc and why? Cause he was curious he said - BULLSHIT!! I don’t like people prying into my life. Especially someone who tries to come down all moral and rightous when they have no right to judge me. He even wanted me to black out the bumper sticker on the back of the white van that Jason had put up all because it had a word that wasn’t appropriate in his words.
Anyway to end this I don’t think I have a family anymore and frankly if everything comes attached with strings I don’t think I want that anymore either. I am paying my parents back the money I have borrowed from them in past and will limit my contact from now on. As for my friends - don’t call right now cause I am not in the mood to talk or discuss this matter. And if you are family and reading this well then you know what I am going to do now.
