We Are At War You Know..
This is my first political blog so bare with me as I get rolling and maybe ranting and raving a bit.
I am just an old Hippy in some ways but I am also a veteran that left blood on the ground in the past. So I wanted to put to type my opinion on my country’s condition and positions in the war we find our selves.
And make no mistake we are in the early stages of World War 3. This is a war that has been waged for 1500 years on and off . Now these words come from a atheist so it can’t be said I have a religious bend to my views. If we take 5% of the worlds Islamic population , and that’s the percentage that has been verified many times to having sworn to give their lives to kill all non Muslims and in some cases Muslims also, we have an enemy force larger than all the military we fought during WW1, WW2 and Viet Nam combined. I’m not talking about the 76% of the Islamic world that has stated they support many of the views of the 5%. I’m talking only about the Millions that have sworn to die and kill their own people in order to wipe the infidels from the earth.
Generally speaking “the infidels” is basically anyone that does not follow the Coranic teachings of Islam but specifically the Judeo-Christian world that Islam has fought since 500 ad when Islam was established. Now we rational thinking folks want to think these folks are just like Us. They raise their kids and want to just enjoy life and feed their families. You would be wrong for 30 % of the Islamic population. There is a large segment of the Islamic world that wish for the rest of the world to live as it did in 500ad and follow a view that is nothing more than a death cult. The women and men dragged into the soccer fields by the Taliban and stoned to death speaks of this view. The beheading of captive, unarmed men speaks volumes of the enemy we confront. The willingness to kill their own people in order to do any damage they can to “the infidels” paints a picture of a death cult. A cult where children are sat in front of a book and made to spend every day chanting words of Jihad until they reach an age where their damaged brains praise Allah as they fly 200 hundred men, woman and children into 1000’s of other men women and children .
This is our Enemy. And they will be coming to a town near you. We cannot stop a direct conflict on a major scale at some point. The only question should be is that conflict to occur on their soil or ours. This brings me to Iraq.
I wish we had not gone into Iraq. I have looked at all the reports and studies and considered that its Monday morning quarterbacking but I feel from a tactical stand point we could have used only air power to dot the I’s and cross the T’s across Iraq and gained a bit of control but that’s History and we are where we are. We are now in a position to pick the place of our stand. To the east we have Syria and to the west we have Iran. And we are drawing into battle 1000’s that cross both those borders to attack. Many of these would be finding ways to get a new passport to visit a town near you.
Lets consider the fall of Iraq into all out civil war and we split. The Sunni are a minority and will be toast in a very short time as the Sunni bases countries have never and will never supply troops to support their people in Iraq. So in a very short time a Shiite Iraq will arrive and with the influx of people and support from Syria and Iran will give a massive support base for further nuclear and biological weapons research. These folks have sworn to die in order to kill you and your children. They have packed toys with plastic explosives and put them on the shelf at the toy store. They have machine gunned daycare centers, decapitated tied up people and strapped explosives to the chest and walked into a wedding. Do you think these people would blink at releasing Anthrax from a small plane over any town U.S.A. or strapping a Nuke on a cargo ship and Fed-X’ing a package to Miami . If they could do it they would do it, make no mistake about that. With our men and woman on the ground in Iraq we have picked the battle field. If we withdraw we allow the enemy to pick the ground of battle. This is basic to tactics of battle. The Army that picks the battlefield has the advantage.
We have lost 3000+ fine solders but lets consider this as the starting years of WW3. In the first 4 hours we lost 15,000 men on D day in WW3. If the modern press were to splash that across the tabloids every day we would have pulled out on day 2. While each and every solders life is precious we are fighting an enemy that does not consider life as having value. It was said of war that unless you fight your enemy with the same ferocity as they uses against you, You will lose.
Lets now consider our fate if we lose this war. We have a region of the world that Believes , not thinks, but Truly Believes that they must export there life on the world. This will lead to direct confrontation of a now combined, weaponized enemy because if the 5% Islam gains Iran, Iraq, Syria it will also gain Pakistan who already has Nuclear weapons. They will send forces into Afghanistan to cause us to withdraw from there also.
