Getting home yesterday after a wonderful 15 days in Vegas, its funny that the 22 hour layover at Chicago O'Hare took away all the flooding nice visuals and replaced them with disdain and bitter feelings.
I know that the O'Hare layover is still fresh and will be a 'flash in the pan' compared to the embedding memories & joy felt piror to my miserable time there.
I know that while reflecting back to my Vegas experience, it will eventually become a side note and even a learning experience to convey to travelers.
Some notable things of the lay over experience is:
O'hare has the most food courts I've ever seen.
(with some exceptional places to dine)
With it being the largest airport in the US it's ideal for people watching ...
Even while extremely fatigued and massive sleep deprivation,
I found myself chucking at a particular person or an event unfolding in front of me.
Watching angry people yelling at the poor customer service reps ...
actually reminded me to remain calm while dealing with them myself.
I know people are stress from traveling and its overwhelming at times ...
but some people just cant take the fact THEY are the ones to blame!
Then they take it out on some poor schmo just doing their job.
The ticket agent is not the:
TAXI that got you there late,
nor the hotel wake up service that didn't call
or the alarm company that made your clock either.
Or in my case
Wasn't -ME- trusting my Brother-in-law to get me to the airport.
I learned to trust my instinct -
I had a strong feeling to just stay up all night
(been used to it while Cindy was there anyway)
I wanted to be there BY 4:00, not leave by 4:30 am.
(I was booted because they over sold and didn't check in 'early enough' by their standards) ...
I'll live with it, I mean YELLING at them wouldn't of got me anywhere
but
possibly put in jail.
With Hindsight 20/20 ...
I learn a valuable lesson,
I also experience something to add a little twist to my otherwise Fairy Tale meeting with Cinderella ...
err ummm I mean Cindy :)
