In Spring, 2007, the Aubrey Rose Foundation will host the American Girl Fashion Show; a delightfully entertaining, multi-generational fundraising event. Proceeds from this event will fund programs and services to help families with children facing life-threatening illnesses.
The American Girl Fashion Show is coming the Oscar Center in Cincinnati, April 20th- 22nd. The fashion show provides an entertaining and educational look at how generations of American girls have used clothing to express their own unique styles and personalities. Over 300 local girls will model historical fashion- from daywear and sleepwear to special occasion clothing – like popular Multi-cultural American Girl dolls Felicity, Josefina, Kirsten, Addy, Samantha, Kit and Molly might have worn. Other featured fashions include American Girl’s line of fun, contemporary casual wear for older girls and sweet dress-like-your-doll outfits from Bitty Baby. Over 3,000 guests are expected to enjoy this enchanting tea party and educational walk through history where many generations will experience the true traditions of the American Girl Doll!
The Aubrey Rose Foundation was founded because of a very happy baby who endured so much including a successful heart and double lung transplant at 18 months of age. Aubrey died suddenly and unexpectedly, two days short of her third birthday in November, 2000. We are carrying on her spirit by putting smiles on children’s faces at a time when they most need help smiling and creating memories that will last forever!
The Aubrey Rose Foundation:
• Helps families with financial need due to medical expenses of their children.
• Awards educational scholarships.
• Hosts an annual holiday party and gift giving for families at Children’s Hospital.
• Hosts themed dinner parties at the Ronald McDonald House quarterly.
• Developed “Healing the World’s Hearts” in 2004 along with help from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, local surgeons and corporate support to provide “simple” heart procedures to needy children in the U.S. and developing countries around the world. We say “simple” heart procedures because these are surgeries which we can perform in the U.S. that can SAVE A CHILD’S LIFE enabling them to live a healthy and productive life without follow-up cardiac procedures.
*Elena, a 3-year old little girl from Russia received a life-saving heart surgery in November thanks to the Healing the World’s Hearts Program and returned home in time for Christmas! She is expected to live a vibrant, healthy life with no follow-up procedures required! Approximately $50,000 was covered by the Aubrey Rose Foundation.
