[Yes, I really wrote this myself... just a few minutes ago]:
There are times in your life when all seems lost. You walk a barren wasteland, alone.
Lonely, you trudge across the deserted plain seeking at least one small, beautiful sign of life.
You've all but given up hope... resigned to your fate and lot in life... when something catches your eye from afar.
You walk in its direction, approaching it with equal parts trepidation and excitement. Then you see it: The most beautiful flower. In fact, the most beautiful one you've ever seen. You kneel closer, examining it for flaws. You see none. The changed beat in your heart lets you know how you feel about the flower before you even really give it thought. The flower is special. Very special.
But do you dare remove the flower from its root and bring it along on the journey with you? What if it's not meant to be yours? What makes you think you're even good enough to possess such a thing of rare beauty?
Do you leave the flower be and continue on through the desert alone? What if you don't find a flower as beautiful and special as this one? What if you don't find another flower at all?
And so you sit. And wait. Waiting for the moment that will determine whether or not this flower is meant for you, or if you are meant to continue on your journey without it.
But whatever the outcome you know you are already lucky to have come in contact with it, the special flower.
