Your warm hands holding my face
Those green eyes looking down into mine
I hear those soft sweet words out of your mouth again
Telling me how beautiful you think i am
And yet again, as you speak, my eyes hit the floor
The echo of my past racing through my mind
For every sweet word your lips speak
My ears have heard a hundred bad
As much as my heart, wants me to let them go
My mind doesn't seem to want to follow
So as much as i want to let you in my heart and in my life
I will not let you pay for the sins of others
As i stand here with you
I look up into your sea of green and try to remember this feeling
Every detail
I store it into my mind
As i slowly remove the warmth from my face
I smile.....
Heart aching.......
And walk away........
