If someone had told you that you would save the world from destruction, what would you do? Well, five years ago, I was told that very same thing. And ever since my life has been different. Sit back and I'll tell you the story from the start.
My name is Damien Dark, and this all starts on my twelfth birthday. My mom, who's into all that physic and spiritual stuff, thought it would be nice if I got my spirit energy read. Of course when I heard that, I thought of Dragon Ball Z and Yu Yu Hakusho, but this was a little different. She said the last time my father and her had been read, her energy was basically light and air energy,and my father's was that of dark and fire energy. A strange combination for those two, which is probably why they got divorced. After the small talk we left for my reading.
Connie's Cosmic Sage, the best place in town for your spiritual needs. This was the place where I was going to be read. As we walked in Connie, the store owner and one of my mom's friends, greeted me with a birthday card. The Card said, " All you do, is all you can.", but I had no clue what that meant. Connie was seventy-two year old woman whose whole life was based on nothing but the spirit. After I read the card she walked us back to an old wooden, round table with a skull pattern in the center. She sat me down at one end of the table and she took a seat on the other, as for my mom she sat in the front of the store.
Connie grabbed my hands and closed her eyes, and she started humming. A few seconds pass, and then she stops humming and her eyes open. Her eyes were white and only very small pupils shown. She let out a loud gasp, and told me that I hold the energy of all the elements. A rare power among mortals that could mean certain danger for me and my family. I was scared out of my pants. But then she got out a gold amulet with a jade stone in the center. Connie told me the amulet would absorb excess energy. I asked why she was so worked up, and she told me I would save the world from destruction one day, and that the amulet would protect me until then. Of course, I wanted to laugh and say, "Yeah, right!", but I didn't. I just looked at my mom and backed away, slowly.
Connie ran in to the back room and pulled out a book. "I have a book that might help explain most of what I'm talking about.", she said as she came back into the front room, "I'm not crazy, I know that's what you were thinking." I was thinking that; She explained that she had found the book when she was in India, visiting a pen-pal of hers. She gave me the book and told me to read it, front to back, and to memorize every bit of it as well.
That was almost eight years ago, and now I'm nearing my twentieth birthday. I have memorized every square inch of the book; every word and every phrase. The time for me to fulfill my destiny is about to begin. I hope I'm ready to survive what may come.
