Here's what's up people (though i don't know how many of you even read this) I'm going to be posting the ammendments in order.
maybe it'll help clear the chaos that is this country. I will also attempt to explain the meaning of each, if i can.
Ammendment 1
Congress shall make NO LAW respecting an establishment of religion, or PROHIBITING the practice thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people to PEACEABLY assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievences.
ok, a lot of people misinterpret that first part. What it means is that the government cannot establish a state religion. it does NOT mean that the government can stifle any sort of religious activity, which is what the next part says. Putting a nativity scene in fromt of a court house does NOT in any way infringe on the rights of non-christians. It is simply the practice of this first right. It is also the practice of the second part, the freedom of speech. If a bunch of crazy people who claim that 9/11 was an inside job can spew hate and abuse their rights, than God-fearing people should also be able to practice their rights.
If everytime a law passes that someone doesn't like and they appeal it and get it revoked, what's point in voting? there is none. The freedom of the press does not mean the ability to pester and harass people. The right to assemble does not mean that you can go to a soldier's funeral and protest the war, that is absolutely horrifying. These rights are so horribly abused that no one actually even knows what the constitution even says. We think we can do whatever we want because we vaguely hear that we have the right to do this or that.
