What are you waiting for?

I've decided to plant some seeds in honor of our new group, the Affinity. I think it will be neat to watch our seeds grow as do our friendships within the group.

If anyone would like me to plant something special for them, I'd love to. Just let me know. I'll be hitting the seed store in a couple of hours here, lol, and will have you all in mind.

I was excited before about this group, but now I'm Really excited...lol.

If you've never heard of this group, please ask me about it, or see the Bulletins in same name. We're Everywhere...lol..and growing, I'm happy to say.

> I've been surfing around the fu for a long while now, looking for a group of people to join. I've visited pages, watched them at work, thus far haven't found a connection with any of them. Not that there is something WRONG with them, but none of them seem to have what I'm looking for.

> So, here are my thoughts. I'd like to be part of a family where leveling isn't the total priority, and where all women that share a few simple common bonds can join together in friendship. I want to be part of a group made FOR women, and BY women, without a care as to what she looks like. I've found lots of female-oriented groups, but they all seem to have a prerequisite for joining based on a woman's appearance. Some are only looking for beautiful women, others are looking for women of a certain size (large or small) and others take members only based on hair color. Not that I have anything against the groups that are set up that way, I'm just more of the non-exclusive type. High school was set up that way...the cheerleaders, the large girls, the smart girls...each one in her own group. I always hated that, and I was always the girl who had friends in each group. We're all adults now, and I don't feel personally connected with anything that is based solely on appearance. Perhaps that's just my personality...I usually pick the things that most people don't. Maybe it's a defect, I don't know...but I actually like that about myself, and see no need to change it.

> Basically, what I am saying is this...I would like to begin a fubar family for women only...where the only requirement is that you were born to this earth the fairer sex. A group that accepts all ages and body types, whether or not you are married, whether or not you are a mother, whether or not you are sexually active, whether or not you wake up on Monday and have jello instead of coffee. A group that celebrates friendship and new connections...one that is both to support and encourage the members who see fit to join. Leveling isn't the priority, but help can be asked for and received...but mostly it's about being a part of something that brightens your day a little. A group of women that actually CARE about each other, and aren't just out to make points on a social networking site.

> I don't know if this is a possibility, or if anyone would even be interested in beginning this with me, but I just don't seem to fit into any of the other groups for one reason or another - and I'd like to begin one where you don't have to BE SOMETHING to join...you just have to BE.

> If anyone is interested in helping me start this group, please let me know. If possible, I would like to have at least 2 dedicated ladies to help me with group organization, to help me set up the goings-on and such (I have a lot of ideas for things like group activities) and I would like to have some managers to help. I'm not setting out to have the largest family on Fubar...just the best. ;) It doesn't matter to me whether we have a large group or a small one, as long as we have the opportunity to be a part of something special.

> I plan to name the family THE AFFINITY, based on it's definition. All women are welcome to become a part of it, and hopefully together we can come up with something worth joining. I realize that this will be something different from the common family group, where points are the importance, and I understand that not everyone will want to be a part of something that isn't about status enhancement...but this is just what I feel is valuable. I'm sure it may sound silly to some, and a waste of time to others, but perhaps it will make sense to others. Personally, I'd rather have a tightly woven group of 5 that actually make me smile...than to be lost in a group of 500 where no one knows my name.
