Wrath Like a Rocket

(Sweet Lil Wicked One)
For years she prayed
but the memories stayed
She remained afraid
to think.
In the mirror she saw
what others might call
beauty
But she slit her wrists at the sink.
Above average intelligence
didn't catch the boys' glance
so she showed them
more of her body.
A smart slut with charm
on the hottest guy's arm
wasn't enough--
She fixed herself another toddy.
Memories flooded in
as he ravaged her skin--
the flashbacks
of innocence taken.
A little girl who
was sweet and gullible too
blamed herself.
Not realizing she was mistaken.
Years they flew
the memories did too
with every climax
and drop of sweat.
Therapy reminded her
Promises of love blinded her
but the shame
she couldn't forget.
One day she returned
to the town
where she was burned
by the sick pedophillic bastard.
Walking on the street
while trees swayed
in the windy heat
memories made her run faster.
An all too familiar scent
Old Spice and spearmint
assalted her senses
he was standing right in front of her.
Rage, anger, sadness
She wanted to give
into the madness
and kill her attacker.
The panic that froze her
caused her to be sober
and stand proud
in spite of him.
From her eyes, shot daggers
He looked old and haggard
thrusting his hands in his pockets.
Oh how she wanted to smite him.
For hours she thought
vengeance should have been sought--
she called herself a coward.
Little did she know, God's wrath was like a rocket
Her molester took a ride
on his motorcycle with pride
a deer got in the way
No hospital for miles, the asphalt smiled
as it consumed his flesh that day.
He lay there in agony
the right-handed deacon of blasphemy
screaming as his fingers
had been ripped from the sockets.
