Hummingbird

(sweet lil wicked one)
I was a hummingbird
hovering freely over
flowers of passion
drinking deep from them.
You knew words were my nectar.
Luring me with a mixture of
love, sexual innuendo, double entendres
and clever repartee.
Your fake red sweetness seduced me
and I drank of it.
You led me to believe I could remain
free to fly
while you embraced me.
Instead you crushed my wings,
and I plummeted to the ground.
Now I am no longer free to fly
but caged and disabled.
Made to drink that sick concoction
you call sweetness.
It leaves me with a bitter taste.
