better living through recreational chemistry pt. 4

 drugs.

this is where you get into the recreational chemistry part.

a breif history lesson, kids. since the dawn of man we have used various forms of drugs to help find a spiritual path. be it the native americans and peote, or what have you. only in recent times have we crossed over into the abusive side of it.

cocaine heroine crack, down to pot and alchohol. it is all used for recreational purposes. the first three, they can kill. period. not saying i'm against them but the use of these substances is just not for me. alchohol, if taken in moderation, can actually have a good impact on your life, and is a healthy thing. marijuana, the findings on this have been buried for years.

(yes, this is going to turn into a pro-pot-leagalization rant.)

not only has it been used to help with glaucoma, but it has helped cancer patients, aids paitients, alzheimers, insomnia (um, i wouldn't know, really.), the list goes on.

th point is that drugs are used as an excuse to keep prisons full, and subvert the poor. keeping cities and poor neighborhoods suppleid with narcotics and getting the inhabitants addicted so as to keep the crime rates up, get the people deperate for more and more powerful drugs, and keep the economy going.

now if these same drugs were leagalized, around 65-70% of the prison population would be gone. the national defecite would be erased. more jobs would be created. and crime rates would go down. simple plan isn't it?

then why don't we see it happening? why are addicts depicted as poor urban trash? most drug users now aren't even in the inner cities, the're in the suburbs and professional feilds more now than they have ever been.

 makes you wonder doesn't it?

this argument could go on forever on both sides. but at least when and if they leagalize weed, i'm becoming a farmer!!!!

one thing that i have learned is that religion is bad. i believe religion, organized religion, was created as a method of control, with its rules and regulations set up to keep the masses loyal and in order a couple of millenia ago. yes it is outdated, but it is still in effect now, as it was back then. call it god, allah, ishtar or whatever the basic text has always been the same; be nice and support your local government.

o.k., but, how 'bout this? what if god does not exist? what if we are just a chance conglomeration ofatoms and molecules in the primordeal ooze? kind of makes those new nike's and tonites hockey game a bit less important doesn't it? it shouldn't. you are still alive and kicking none-the-less, so why give all your spare change to a group of people that make you sing stupid songs, eat stale crackers and drink cheap non-alchoholic wine, just so that they can yell at you,, call you a sinner, tell you your soul is going to burn in hell, and not have to pay taxes! hmmm? who made them judge and jury over everyone?

walt whitman said it best,, i'm not sure how accurate this is, but: life exists in identity, the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. well, the bible is full of verses, covering everything from why killing is bad, why killing is good, and why it was o.k. for lot's daughters to get him drunk and have sex with him. (look it up: genesis 19:30-38 those sick little monkeys!!!)

actually it is all up to interpretation, and there are so many different ways to interpret it. and they do, at great length. but,all in all the bible has to be the worst written book in history, next to war and peace. a little more confusing, but not quite as boring.

this is why the middle east has been killing each other for the past two thousand years, though, and why i'm woke up at 10am on saturday mornings (i work 3rd shift!) by jahovah's witnesses trying to tell me my life is useless unless i spend my time bringing people to jahovah!

but it gave me an idea.

support your local kinko's or local print shop! make up a booklet or pamphlet explaining your beliefs, be it scientology, satanism, atheism, bondage and dicipline, whatever. go to their houses at 3am and spend a half hour or so bringing them into the fold of your chosen lifestyle. it might be fun, but realistically i don't think they would get the hint.

i could rave on and on about the subject of religion but i think it a good time to move on. so...

Category: Life

o.k. how and where to begin ?

i can't really say life sucks. life in general can actually be a hell of a good time. there is a long list of enjoyable things out there, but i'll get to that, in time. i think it better, personally to rant, semi-coherently, about what pisses me off first.

like i said, life doesn't really suck, that is not to say that some of the situations IN life do not. say, for example, all of the stupid shit that goes on that effects our daily lives: politics, war, P.E.T.A....  the list goes on and on.

does anyone really care if the president is "gettin' some", or if somedumb fucks can't stop shooting themselves over religious beliefs? can anyone really give a rats ass if some mary kay comando tries a new lipstick out on a bunny? (i think bunnies are cute and all, but a little eye shadow and blush still ain't gonna make me want to ask it for a date.)

anyways, it's not the ideas themselves, the ideas are fine, and it's good to have and idea or ideals, but it just gets annoying when people believe so strongly in the idea that belief takes over, any semblance of thought goes out to lunch,, and the groups of half-witted, self-righteous asses take to whitch hunts and cross burnings as a means to execute their movements sentiments.

i've always found people as individuals to be interesting, intelligent and fairly decent in their own rights, but when you gather a bunch of them together the individual becomes social, and society is where you start to have problems. we become, for the most part, scared to show our individualism for fear of being ostricised from the social groups that we associate ourselves with. it always comes down to being a part of a whole and following your crowds ideals, not saying that that is a bad thing, i'm saying that we all do our part, however unintentionally, to segregate ourselves from others, creating our own groups, cultures and crowds of like-minded individuals that help to make us feel like we belong to something.

conformation. a need to belong to a group. that can be a dangerous thing. it can lead to religion

life in general

selfish pricks of the world unite!!!!!
in the words of a selfish prick;
i realize that i am the most important person in my life, for without me to feed off of, the rest of those in my life would not be. without me to provide a backdrop and stage to fuel the play the actors would have no script or motivation to further the act, no resources to derive a scene, nor thought to even speak a line. without me the world as i percieve would not even exist at all. so if you ask if the world revolves around me, then i would not hesitate to say, fuck yes it does!!
