august 29th, 2006, i celebrated 11 years of sobriety.

in pagan tradition, august 29th is the day Urda is honored. she is the eldest of the three Fates (Norns) and she represents "that which was".
the runic half month Rad, which denotes the channeling of energies in the correct manner to produce the desired results, commences on august 29th.
i freely tell people the details of my addiction and my recovery, if they want to know. unless they are stuck in a treament center or jail that i am speaking in, then they don't have much of a choice.
the point is that i am not ashamed and often this has led to someone asking me how for help with their own addiction. this is why i still attend 12 step meetings.it is so i can help those who are new and those who are struggling, and so i can learn.
